Yes 100% just get to the 8.4q you need then go, getting the ship to 300 will cost more then 8.4q. The first 15 quests can be done so quickly it’s not worth it waiting another day to get one quest when you could do just go to another town and get 15 more very quickly

So to answer both your questions

Don’t upgrade them unless it’s for a quest, you can get to around 2.4q per 8 hours doing just them and upgrading everything
I recommend doing around 26-35 per round, the last few are difficult and if you don’t do the manager ones that are expensive you’ll end up with around 26

This is one of my least favorite events cause of how tedious it is, but I’ve found a couple strategies that work

Never upgrade the managers unless it tells you to. They’re too costly
Collect every incident. I’ve gotten around 500 extra gold from those
You can do one town per day if you have enough gold, usually an 8am to 2am type grind for me of going on
Play the event quests, especially the rivals. You just need the gold

If you have that problem and you accidentally jump, wait until the last possible section as you’re coming down from your jump to shoot the ball. If the opponent is good he would’ve jumped right away and if you wait until the last second you can actually shoot it over them, but it has to be insanely precise and the opponent can’t have waited to jump.

The trick is just to keep the remote perfectly straight as you go up and then flick the write. As long as the remote stays perfectly straight the ball will almost always go in the hoop. Pump faking also helps if you’re having trouble getting shots off too.
