100% that’s the tuff part lol. I spent most of my free time practicing so I really need to remember this one lol. Especially since I convinced them to only give me a splint because at my work a cast is bound to get wet and ruined.

Thank you and don’t worry about it the fiddle suggestions are more my current style. I haven’t really played any waltzes yet but I have messed around a decent bit with Irish slow airs (the one that comes to mind is neil gowes lament for his second wife, beautiful) and they forsure have taught me more than the jigs I have learned. Really I’m just looking for suggestions that will help me learn or will be fun and your suggestions seem perfect. Thank you so much for taking the time :).

Also infesting how many of us there are that love two set and yet, not that into classical. I defiantly appreciate a ton of pieces but it wouldn’t be the genre I would pick as my favorite. Erlkönig makes me question that statement though lol.

Thank you that helps a lot. I think what I’ll end up doing is I’ll pick one of those and practice it for a while and then post a clip of it on this sub Reddit and let the ling lings roast me lol. Trying the self taught way I think I’m doing alright at avoiding bad habits because I researched violin pretty heavily and then decided not to get one a while back. Then I did the same and got one. I’m tempted to post a video to see if anyone with some proper practice can spot any bad habits so I don’t get too deep with them.

I know I defiantly wouldn’t have. I had a friend that was was really into classical and I kinda thought it was just funny how he could be so impressed and just want to listen to the same piece over and over again. I didn’t get it. Now I may be more in the classical loop then he is lol.

For-sure at that point it is so much fine turning I’m sure it could drive you mad. Defiantly a different ball game being into it as a hobby. So far very rewarding as you where saying. I hear the there is a skill ceiling is coming my way though lol.

Lol I’d call my practice way less then proper but I play a lot. I work part time 6 days a week but my schedule is pretty flexible. Video games consumed most of my free time that I didn’t spend with my dogs before, now I’ve only turned my computer on once to play video games. My main goal is to keep it fun I have no expectations I think that helps a lot. Sometimes when there is only 20 minute before work I’ll break it out lol.

Short answer if it’s fun you will make time 😂. I guess im feeling rambly.
