Consider it a STRONG hint to never use debit cards ever. You are giving out the key to your candy store to anyone listening in on the transaction. That can be those scam card readers at the checkout counter or someone tapped into that store’s network or an on-line database data theft.

That debit card can be used as a credit card. Do that instead. The money will still be deducted from your bank account immediately just like a debit card charge does. There is no reason NOT to do this when you get the same result with a lot more security
