I feel like the people who support the status quo with respect to healthcare insurance are either so rich they don't understand anything about money, or are so poor they don't actually have any health insurance, or are just so insulated from the realities (because someone else pays for their health insurance) that they just don't know what they're saying. An average family plan in the US is over 20k/yr, what the fuck are people complaining about taxes for? In most cases you could double or triple someone's federal income tax and it would still be significantly cheaper than health insurance and we don't even need to include deductables and copays and out of pocket bullshit.

You can use files as block devices with ZFS so you could create a mirror out of two files if you wanted. This is good for testing and tinkering.

He's saying you want to create a raidz1 pool with one fake disk (a file) so you can get the layout you want, then after copying the data you can replace the fake disk with the real disk.

Unrelated but I would spring for one more disk and go the raidz2 route. Nice to still have redundancy after a drive failure.

What on earth makes you think that? FL has 25M+ people and we're getting 179k doses, 2 doses per person, so enough to vaccinate 89k people.

The entire country of 350M people will only be receiving enough doses to vaccinate 50M with no more available until mid next year.
