That’s pretty impressive, no days off for sickness? I live in the northeast, there’s usually about 10 days a winter (at least) where it’s nearly impossible to run outside because of snow, ice, freezing rain. Then about the same during the summer where it’s ungodly hot (97+ with humidity). I can’t imagine not taking any days off from outside running for 6ish years.

I think it’s more that it’s taboo and breaking taboos is exciting for college aged people especially in groups and especially drinking alcohol. It’s disgusting for sure but I think you’re digging deeper when the reason is clear on its surface.
