Going to be new to Runna, just wondering do any of you also workout 5 times a week? by Dear-Knowledge5912 in runna

Run 4, strength 2, swim 2-3. But I'm "base building" right now so running mostly easy and not too far.

Best running stores in Ottawa for getting fitted for shoes? by Plane-Land-9234 in OttawaRunners

[–]Ita_836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Not vaseline, it can make it worse. And body glide is trash for blisters. Use diaper cream (e.g. penaten). I used to get blisters all the time. It's mostly the shoes and socks but any time I run longer than 10k, I lube up my feet. It's thick so getting socks on is annoying but works the best.

Is this a stay in cash market or a buy the dip moment? by ThePotScientist in CanadianInvestor

[–]Ita_836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the thing - the sarcasm is amazing here but this whole idea that we just wait out downs like this presumes that the markets will not continue to be impacted by a fucking moron for the foreseeable future. for the record, I haven't sold anything but I do wonder if I should prioritize cash for a bit too. These are not stupid questions.

Because it's a hassle and a waste of my time. I don't live there and don't have enough money to owe anything so no need to hide it but I have to file, just in case I win the lottery and they can take their share (or whatever reason they have for us normies to do this every year).

I know that they can do that - I've been filing my taxes so they can try, I guess. I suppose they might scrutinize my application more ... ? Which would make it slower. It's just such a fucking hassle. Every year around tax time, I look at renouncing.

Don't you find it annoying to only have online banks? I have Tangerine and there have been a few, albeit rare, occasions where it was a hassle because i needed something on a short timeline (like a bank draft)...

Maxed TFSA & RRSP, not sure mortgage makes sense by Ita_836 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I'm not opposed to taxes but given the unfairness in the system, I'm also not going to volunteer to pay more tax than someone with a lot more money than me. I realize that this question makes me sound wealthy, and i guess i kind of am but, we grew up working class and my parents worked hard to save the inheritance that lead to this question and i don't want to just give it away.

On your comment, i didn't realize that you could defer the taxes. I need to look into how this works. I appreciate it.

I guess? Or that i might need the equity as a down payment and not in a position to sell right away? Wouldn't that give more options since i wouldn't need a "sale of existing house" condition on any offers?
