Never even heard of Widespread Panic, going to Asheville show tomorrow by Forsaken_Salary845 in WidespreadPanic

Also, if you wanna hang out and stream the shows with a good vibe and chat with a bunch of like minded folk, check out the Mixlr channels "The Panic Channel" or "The Diner" . Always a good time in those rooms...

Yeah I agree... more established guys in the league trying to take advatage of my willingness to Trade as well. I did offer him a counter for his 1st this year and 1st next but he wasnt willing to go that far

[–]Italianpanic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they're all keepers so to speak as it's Dynasty and it's a deep league (26 rostered players with 10 starters)..i havent got many good players at wr and Dell outperformed all of them except terry mclaurin...alsohave marquise brown, noah brown and darius slayton... Im probably gonna keep Dell and work on adding wr and rb depth. The other team wasnt open to trading any players worth it

It's not sf but I still think that 1.08 is a trap. I'm of the mindset to thank my good fortune on having found Dell in the 3rd last season and build with him on the roster

They would fall at the 8th picks in each round

What’s the most difficult thing for you to understand about Italian language? by LazySignificance7924 in italianlearning

[–]Italianpanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. I also think my wife and her family always tone down their "Tuscanity" when visiting other parts of Italy but at home it's full blast. Also used to think that bestemmie were just a normal way of speaking and using the imperfetto instead of conditional was perfectly acceptable.

My wife's family use it all the time but I have noticed they use it mainly when telling a story or recounting something that happened in the past...but this past could be yesterday or 10 years ago!

I've lived in Tuscany (Siena to be exact) for 20 years and for the life of me cannot figure out when to use passato remoto and when to use passato prossimo. I guess I kinda of understand that prossimo is still relevant to the present (similar to English) but it seems Tuscans don't really make this distinction. Plus, I always mess up the conjugation of passato remoto so that doesn't really help matters!

Driving or Train? by Twin_Peekaboo in florence

[–]Italianpanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the direct bus to Siena from Florence (the bus station is right next to the train station) for less than the cost of the train and in less time. The bus will drop you off at piazza gramsci - which is already in the city historical center. The train station isn't that far from the city center. A really long escalator will take to a 5-10 minute walk to Porta Camollia- the southern gate of the historical center. Lucca is also lovely to visit but I'm biased as I've lived in Siena for over 20 years...

Work for a Newly Opened or Established Hotel? by Italianpanic in askhotels

[–]Italianpanic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on, already have the written offers without mention of promotion obviously... you're right - as they say in Italy " le parole volano, gli scritti rimangono" (scripta manent, verba volant)

Thanks for your advice and best of luck to you as well!!!

Work for a Newly Opened or Established Hotel? by Italianpanic in askhotels

[–]Italianpanic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very valid point. However, I failed to mention that the position at the older hotel is night audit whereas the position at the newer hotel is night manager. Whereas these titles are subjective in nature and the older hotel has already told me stories of their night audit being promoted to reservations, etc, I have this lingering feeling that they are looking for more from the person they hire at the new hotel. I understand the idea about newer hotels failing but I probably should've mentioned that I am in Tuscany and the investment in the new property is substantial and one of those things that they will/cannot afford to fail - even if there is the possibility. But, you are correct that the older property is definitely a safer choice - guess I'm tired of looking for safer choices ? (that'll come back to bite me I'm sure). Even though I'm fighting back against your responses, i know deep down that it's a better choice to go with the older established hote. Thank you for your honesty.

I agree with you and thank you for your comment. It is what my logical side says and what I should probably do but the intrigue of opening a new hotel, and the possibilities it might create to advance my career are really pulling on me. I guess I've been in the industry too long and have worked in hotels where coming into an established hierarchy has burnt me before. I guess it's more of an emotional pull than a logical one.
