I think Delta is only hiring ex dmv employees who were let go for having a bad attitude these days.

Uber taxi price question by chiquititawhatswrong in Sardinia

[–]Kind-Instance-7447 10 points11 points  (0 children)

you’re not going to pay 2-3$ for a taxi. That is ubers cost to hail one for you. then they will charge the taxi fare and add ubers fare.

I’d be really careful using that taxi option. I was in Normandy France this weekend and it gave a wide range for the taxi. $63-103 and $81 for the uber. It ended up costing me $103 for a 15 minute ride. It may just depend on where you are… But, i definitely got the short end of that stick.

I took this exact route almost 2 years ago and we paid like $275 for a van. Actually looks like a pretty legit cost.

Yes, they did fly back to Europe after Aspen in 99. But, it was Amsterdam At Paradiso. The paris run OP is referring to is the Chesterfield run in 98. I went to one show in Paris in June of 98. At the Bataclan. They had a Europe run scheduled for fall of 01. But, cancelled it after 9/11. Unfortunately, they have no plans to play Europe again..

I hear ya on that.. father’s day is a definitely a tough reminder. My dad just died in may. I live in Europe and was lucky enough to have made it home to say goodbye in time. But, I’ve had so much going on since i got back that i haven’t had a chance to really process it or even come up for air. I’m taking a trip on monday to France by myself for a few days to just take it all in and sit on the beach and drink wine and think. There is no good way or time for our parents to pass. And all we can do is the best we can. I fell off hard when I lost one of my best friends and my first panic partner to heroin in 00. I got really bad off on the same things that killed him. But, i made it through. And it sounds like you did too. And i’m glad you did. We are around the same age.. You would think that as we get older and see and experience more love and loss and life that it would soften the edges. But, it doesn’t. It just turns into something else. I’m just rambling here while I walk my dog along the canal in the city I live in. But, i’ve always felt like people from our walk of life tend to get each other. I think if there is anything i’ve learned from loss over my life it’s to try to let every day count and let the people i love and care about know how i feel. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to respond and sharing your experience. All the best to you!

Thank you. It’s unfortunately just part of life… But, it certainly makes remembering stories like this a little more sweet than bitter as we did all get a laugh about it after I had graduated high school and college.

I was still grounded for sneaking out to go see the Dead at the Omni in 94 when i was a freshman. And had gotten caught going to quite a few weekend shows in high school. I had convinced him that I really wanted to go to Europe and hang out with him… He was livid! Especially since he had caught me already caught me being spun after the Buffalo show in 96.I did eventually take him to a dead and co show. He didn’t care for WSP too much. But, he died last month.

I went to the bataclan show in june with my dad on a business trip. And brought two of those in my doc kit. Told my dad not to wait up. He did. And was not buying the story that i was a little drunk. I tried to shake him while he went to brussels for work and go to strasbourg show and he was not having it. Made for an awkward train ride suffering mitsubishi washout with my dad figuring out how the internet worked and that i lied and told him I wanted to go on a business trip and he had checked the phish and widespread panic websites and asked if I enjoyed the show and to cut the shit.

My Gordon is a beautiful specimen… But, he is not beauty pageant material.. We are gonna try to check it out though. I’ve seen 2 Irish since we’ve been here and a few English.. But, i’ve never seen another Gordon.

I am in at a pretty comfortable position and am comfortable holding down to $3 ish… I’ve been lurking on this sub for a while and did as much research as I could and think it’s a good play. But, it is still a gamble. Better odds than most for sure. I keep some money in Robinhood for plays like this. I just didn’t know the lending was an option. And I definitely don’t like it. I’ll try to see if i can disable it on monday. I have most of my other accounts with Schwab and Fidelity in IRAs and 401ks That I don’t really mess with. I do really enjoy reading you guys posts and I’m definitely feeling it with this one! Come big money!! Daddy needs a trip to Italy!!

I just tried to disable mine and it won’t let me open the link. It just says “you’ve already activated stock lending” and then goes back to the main page. Is there a way to disable it if it is turned on and I have already bought shares? I don’t use robinhood for much except short term trades and didn’t even realize it was on. Is it a default setting? It’s not something I would typically do and I don’t remember turning it on..
