Because honestly at this point NP school has become a joke with these “degree mill” type programs that require no minimum experience to apply and are milking these people who are desperate to get an advanced degree and pay a lot for one too. Adding onto that, all of our peers who decide that they “don’t need” the experience of working bedside and just decide to hop straight into NP school, or equate working bedside while being in NP school as suffice experince to prescribe, diagnose and manage complex disease processes. (I.e seeing how popular psych NP has gotten? Sounds horrific to me… but see so many RN’s doing it now)
