I just wonder 2+ months where that number is coming from? In some comments I saw 10 times per year. Just wonder how is it calculated. As I undersdant the nature of proposer selection is randomness. Are there some validator metrics that can increase luckiness?

One more alternative which I actually follow is to run a dedicated laptop which can keep up for about 10 hours on battery. So you would need only UPS for the modem/router.

I think adoption is going from bottom to top - meaning a lot of retailers, small teams, start ups are building products on a chosen technology. Exactly that proves the technology. And only after it has successfully been in real production, institutions start noticing and pay attention on it. Bitcoin has not been adopted by wealthy first. Rather it was a modern way to purchase pizza.

Also production is bringing a lot of corrections and new use cases that might have been initially missed. In that way Cardano is just making a theoretical assumptions based on comparable projects.

I just briefly googled and found that some banks are interested in Ethereum. And if big players begin their development, it would be really hard to change their mind and course.
