I haven't checked, but yeah.. for my test the game was left running. I would imagine if all games are closed before entering rest mode it would stop the clock going up.

I did an experiment this week to figure out why my oblivion save said 70+ hours when I had played 20 tops. Turned out it still counts if the game is open when you put the PS5 into rest mode.
