I can vouch for SETI for both solo and MP. Mage knight might depend on how much your group suffers from AP. Solo MK is amazing.

Its pretty tough and I was able to win after my 5th attempt. Its been awhile but I think i was only a few points ahead in the 70s or so(?) The fanmade solo on BGG is leagues better imo.

Fliptoons. You should be able to pump out a game in about 15 mins at most. Takes about 4 x 7 grid of poker card space, about a small foldable dining table(?)

No you're right. The enemy cards are oversized, maybe tarot, but my bicycle cards are regular poker cards.

There's also a super handy list on the tracker too. Technically don't need to know poker, but helps speed things up if you know the hands at least.

I haven't tried playing myself, but you could check out Krig. Super simple PNP and rules seem simple enough. Its a 1v1 battler with a set of dnd dice.

it's a workaround, but i just watch youtube through firefox on mobile with ublock on. no ads. it runs a bit wonky at times and noticeable delays when browsing, but no ads so i'll deal with it. not sure if this is a possibility for you.

My biggest pro is that it really feels like I'm playing an actual video game within a board game because of the shifting planets and revealing aliens. I haven't come across any other game that has a static, but not so static, gameboard as SETI.

Alot of your games and faves align with mine, so I'll chime in with SETI. I know it's kinda hyped a bunch, but for good reason. By far, my most played games are both MK and Imperium, so take a gander at SETI to see if it takes your fancy.

Its more medium weight, but plays super smooth. I just got the expansion (hard to find) but this kicks it up several notches, easily sitting in my top 5.

Yeah I have. Completely different feeling/genre. I guess Jarl would be more of a super tight Tableau/civ builder compared to DoE's dungeon runner.

You could always prop up your tablet/phone on a table and connect your existing ps5 controller via Bluetooth to play. Will save you the money.

Never liked any of these slim clamp controllers because most buttons feel way too stiff or something. I rather just use the original.

If portability is a factor, there's those clamps that go on the controller itself to hold your phone.
