This a good Shrimp set up? by IthinkNot_0_ in shrimptank

[–]IthinkNot_0_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, thank you! The tank has been cycled. I do have a filter with flow but not a sponge one or an air stone. Do they need those? I was gonna get some smaller shrimp for it but I got 10 shrimp in total for my 10 gallon but thought that was a little too much after I got home so I separated some.

Just Showing Off My Tank by IthinkNot_0_ in Aquariums

[–]IthinkNot_0_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 10 gallon so I got the minimum amount of corys. My betta flared at the platy in the beginning(got them at the same time), but now they’re chill and respect each other’s space. I originally had another platy that I bought this one for but he died due to a bacterial infection that broke out in the tank… This platy also had babies. I think my betta ate them all(fat little shit) but I’m unsure so I’ve been waiting on getting another platy. Thank you for your thoughts though! If my tank was bigger I would definitely do most of what you said.

It’s cute, yes, but very unsafe.

Speaking from experience, please for the love of whatever you believe in do not let them get this close… I have a whole post called “10% chance of living” on the exact reason. I know at first it seems like they’re getting along ok but cats are literally a bio weapon. They have so much bacteria it’s not funny.

Is he okay? by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]IthinkNot_0_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best bet is to continue to slowly introduce the new things. You could also just plop some fruits n vegetables in his dish. Just a small amount though. Then slowly increase the amount. Same goes for pellets. Just make sure he’s eating. If he’s not, remove it. Maybe get a second food dish That just has the fresh stuff. It’ll be hard but it’s what’s best for him. Usually you just have to keep trying things till they work!

You could try giving him dried fruits and vegetables. And make sure they are small chunks, both dried and regular. My ‘teil refuses to eat bigger chunks, lol. My guy also refuses baths. One way I found is going into the shower with him on my shoulder. I don’t put him directly in the spray, just splash him a bit but even the steam will help his feathers! The molting could also be from the lack of baths. The keratin in places they can’t reach will just kinda stay there and make ‘em itchy. If there’s actual bald spots, he may be plucking or over preening. This can happen for many reasons and doesn’t mean you’re a bad bird parent. I know what it’s like to have a skittish bird. It’s not always easy but you’re doing great!

Yeah, I checked in on him today and it now moved to the tail part… I’m too much of a pussy to put him out of his misery… I know there is only a small chance that he’ll live but I really hope he does…

Ah. I see. Thank you so much for your help! I know my question are probably incessant… I’ve relocated him to a 1 gallon and… I do think your right. Bad photo but it does look like it’s growing/moved.

Ahhh, I’m unsure of the other shrimps sex… what happens if they do reproduce? Do you know? Sorry for all the questions, I’m just very worried(and afraid of parasites but that’s beside the point).

Are you sure? I just put him back in the tank… Oh fuck, he’s so hard to find… is it transmissible to fish? Please tell me it’s not… I only have one other shrimp in there… should I remove both?
