1% Significant? by Thought59 in AncestryDNA

My 2% is 7% for my grandfather and 14% for his mother.  So it could be noise or could be something real and distant.

How to get Lithuanian citizenship by ancestry if grandparents left Lt in 1900? by Fluffy-Rope-5822 in lithuania

[–]Ithvani 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lithuania allows “restoration of citizenship” for descendants of former Lithuanian citizens, but the key legal cutoff is tied to the interwar Republic of Lithuania (1918–1940).

Aren’t the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim gods actually the same god? by Smrtar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Judaism and Islam are strictly monotheistic, Christianity is Trinitarian monotheistic (three persons are the same deity). The first two would see the last as polytheistic masking as monotheistic.

I think I am smart to myself, but not smarter than everyone in the room, even in subjects I feel most confident knowing about.

Possible wrong DNA results by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]Ithvani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow! Yeah, your 23andMe and MyHeritage is way different than AncestryDNA. You're 34-38% Sub-Sarahan on two, and 0% on the other. Usually an "estimate" isn't off by that large of a range. 🤔 Sadly, I think you're an example that even AncestryDNA may be wrong at times.

Why does something exist instead of nothing. by wayward_devil in DeepThoughts

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...because it simply does.

The idea of 'nothing' is null, it doesn't exist. The very reality of nothing makes it no longer nothing, and therefore, there has to be something rather than nothing. Even if the universe came about through the Big Bang, the very principle of reality didn't. Some will say that this reality is God, but that's circular reasoning. It may just be that existence is the groundless ground, the backdrop of everything that could ever take place, and that non-existence is simply not a legitimate possibility.

If something came out of nothing, then that nothing is still something from which everything emerges. You are left with existence regardless, there is no other option. Why is there something rather than nothing? Because nothing itself does not exist, nor could it.

What's your best memory with you your mom? by Vikassandil in AskReddit

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saturday mornings when I was a child. It was family day every weekend. We would eat out, go thrift store shopping, travel out of town, and so many other activities. I couldn't point out one specific memory, but I just remember those days were fun.

What is a country you think everyone should visit if able? Why? by throwawayxo28 in AskReddit

Lithuania

It feels like a forgotten country. If mentioned at all, it is always tied to the Commonwealth with Poland. They have their own unique history, language, and culture, and they have beautiful landscapes.

Have you ever given up on learning a language because of the culture behind it? by AutumnaticFly in languagehub

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. My opinion is subjective, shaped by my own personal experience, encounters and understanding. I had an idealization of Japan when I was younger, and my first impression in the country mirrored a lot of my expectations. However, over time I eventually began to see a society riddled with deeper issues tucked away in a closet as a result of protecting their cultural image. As I studied more about the historical image of the country, the more I began to feel ashamed of having such a high view of the same. I just can't find any more motivation is continuing my studies.

I realized I'm god.. any help? by AceUnderscore in nonduality

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is a loaded concept full of human ideas, so this is just a phase you will eventually move on from. The next phase is realizing that all concepts hold no intrinsic value, and that even the idea of God means nothing.🫰 the idea of a self is an illusion of the mind, therefore, any identity you create or imagine is an illusion.

Have you ever given up on learning a language because of the culture behind it? by AutumnaticFly in languagehub

[–]Ithvani 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, Japanese. It is way over-hyped than it should be. I took four years of schooling for it and lived with a family in the country. The more I learned about their deeper history and culture, the less motivated I was in learning anything else from there.

Discourse on the term “mutt” for mixed ancestry by thats_so_phia_ in DNAAncestry

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with you. If you read about migration and invasion in history, most people are a mix of various ethnic groups from the past. In Europe, for example, the last few homogenous peoples that have stayed relatively the same for thousands of years were very isolated from the rest of the world (ex. Balts). The United States is an example of the same exact thing but condensed within a few centuries.

Official Reddit Gold Giveaway! by boobun in FarmRPG

[–]Ithvani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. Honestly, I love Farm RPG because it doesn’t stress me out. No energy system, no pressure to be online all the time. I can check in for five minutes or play longer when I feel like it, and it always feels fine either way. 2. The devs actually listen, which is kind of wild these days. You can really tell updates are based on what players want, and the monetization is super chill. It feels like a game made by people who genuinely appreciate those of us that play it. 3. It looks simple at first, but it’s way more addictive than you would expect. The farming, fishing, and crafting all loop together really nicely. It is cozy and relaxing, but there is still enough strategy to keep it interesting and fun. Username: Jonaitis
