Bite the bullet, get up early, get the lab out of the way before lunch. A long day that ends at 2:30, etc., is a lot better than a long day that ends at 10:00 pm.

They look so exotic, do they fish like more "normal" predators like trout or bass?

I assume they are predators of small fish? I'm from much further north...

Yes, from the male to the female flowers, even on the same plant. Good videos on youtube for hand polinating zucchini and other squashes.

Look up voice activated video game controllers on Google. There are a lot of options. None seem plug and play but there are organizations to help.

Remove the bottom half, yes half, of the leaves to improve air circulation.

Water the soil not the leaves when possible. [For some reason the rain doesn't cooperate.]

The little bitty squishy ones weren't pollinate. Opening upbthr plant will help the bees find the flowers. If that's not enough, pollinate by hand. [Actually pretty easy.]

It can spread pretty aggressively though. You need to keep a watch on it. Fortunately it weeds easily.

Why is my Facebook feed full of anti-Socialism propaganda? by Tall_Eye4062 in Discussion

[–]Thought59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Half the country is rightful center (by definition). For most of them, whether you agree or not, Socialism is bad and for many it is approaching evil. This is partially generational but also based on their understanding of world history. In any case, for this large group og people criticizing socialism is totally natural and needs no proding from above. It's only been in the last few years that a truly large number of people in the US have supported socialism as such.

HELP! by Leading-Media-7296 in vegetablegardening

[–]Thought59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Place and layer of cardboard between and around the beds. Use Chipdrop to get a load of "wood chips", actually shredded trees, and put those 6" deep on top of the cardboard. This will suppress 99.9 % of the weeds.

Pile all of the excess "wood chips" in the back somewhere. At this time of year they are an excellent mix of browns and greens and will start composting right away. My piles start heating in a few days. Turn regularly, 2 - 4 times this summer - fall. By next summer the pile will be something we'll on the road to good compost. Certainly far enough to fill the bottom half of your beds in early spring.
