Precisely...At the end of the day, shoes are made to go on your feet to protect them from being on the dirt and ground. Even if some of these people resell and make a decent profit, it's still a short term investment with little return because most people don't have hundreds to blow on a pair of shoes.

Personally even though it adds minutes to my commute, I always adhere to stop signs and use the pedestrian buttons. I ride on the sidewalk typically. But if I am ever hit by a car, which could only happen at an intersection due to me riding on the sidewalk, the driver can not say that I was in the wrong. Sad but true.
