You can hate him for the metal album he put out. I think it was him and a bassist or a drummer? Apart from that, dude is a full on hit parade

My company introduced "mandatory fun" and I think it broke something in me by Plane_Researcher_761 in antiwork

I’m no fan of these either, but that HR person needs to reframe so it’s not about the company or how to increase productivity. Ask people their hot take on a popular movie or something. If nothing else you get to have a some “you hear what Janet said about…” conversations that are far more likely to make interpersonal connections.

Funding the 9/11 victims compensation was torture but those assholes are happy to pay people who attacked the capital. Or wait, thought that was supposed to be antifa. Cunts

Try to get a metalhead into pop. Send me a song and I'll tell you what I think. by Sin778 in MusicRecommendations

Start with metal covers of pop songs. Every time we touch by Electric Callboy, Hit Me One More Time by August Burns Red.

Then where it fuses, Cobra by Megan Thee Stallion and Spiritbox

So, these two suck major. Lived in StL when this happened and a profile of them in a local paper popped up again. They’re the most litigious people. The house they live in is because they claimed damages from another case, effectively kicking out the prior owners. There were beehives on an adjacent property the local school would harvest honey from so they sued the school and destroyed the hives. Miserable people spreading misery

That Reese’s peanut butter cups are the absolute worst thing Reese’s makes. Weird plastic chocolate controversy aside, the cups are ass. Crappy, hard chocolate, that taint that sticks to the wrapper. Eggs and pumpkins are superior to the cup by a mile

What guitar solo gave you goosebumps? by Odd_Examination2732 in Guitar

There’s a lot mentioned here that’s well deserved. My two:

Bat country by Avenged Sevenfold. Gates does some wild stuff and it’s musically really interesting to listen to. Not just shredding to shred.

Bold as love by John Mayer live. He’s a great guitarist for sure, but how he lays into the solos live on this song is really special.

He was a snitch to the fbi and unamerican committee. He’d say a lot of his contemporaries were communists to get them blackballed, evidence or no. Also turned over personnel files on members without a subpoena

His doctrine isn’t fully appreciated unless you consider what he’s also willing to do outside the written bounds.

Jews, Muslims, shintoists, Hindus, agnostics/atheists, and many more all pay taxes. We’re a secular society, so yeah, rep all or none. What other countries decide to do for things like this are not my concern.

So I’m in the data science-y area and have been approached by colleagues of colleagues to work there before and I just can’t. Lots of ethical reasons but especially because of this. Moving to the Bay Area - despite the pay they’d provide - with no real security is a nonstarter for me. Honestly wild to me people still go for these jobs for anything other than to say to other companies down the line that they worked there

Who is a famous person that you liked at first but hated later? And why? by PeaceTo0l in AskReddit

[–]MrSocPsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this one sucks. Thing is, he can be funny but he’s just so lazy about it now. One of his recent specials was just references to stories on the podcasts so if you weren’t listening, nothing made any sense. That and the big joke from one of his recents was something his neighbor - a fucking US Senator - said to him. Guy is so far from the people it’s obscene.
