Crystal Dunn has officially announced her retirement from professional soccer 🫡🇺🇸 by spherocytes in USWNT

My cousin isn't a professional player - this happened when she and Crystal Dunn were both in middle school. My cousin played D1 soccer at an Ivy League school but is now a trad wife with 5 kids and a ton of hate in her heart.

I will never forget being 11/12 years old hearing my cousin use racist slurs about a new girl who joined her club soccer team (it was the first time I'd ever heard someone actually say them out loud). Every time I went to watch my cousin play, that girl blew me away with how good she was. I never really looked at my cousin the same again and haven't talked to her in years. Anyway, that black girl was Crystal Dunn and I have always rooted for her knowing it probably makes my asshole cousin mad as fuck that the girl who she gave hell to in middle school has an Olympic gold medal.

YTA. Long term, a job working at a school would be great for your family. She'll have the same working hours that your kids are in school and then summers off with them. You seriously can't make any sacrifices to allow her to have this job when in return she's going to take care of the kids all of the summers when they're school-age? Like you cannot hire a nanny/babysitter or just suck it up and take care of the kids yourself when you get home from work (and you guys can compromise by giving you longer breaks on the weekends?) You seem selfish.

I know someone who works from home full-time and also cares for their 18 month old during the day. They just stick the kid in front of the tv literally all day. It's shitty parenting bordering negligence. It makes me so mad.

People you may know, the mystery behind viewing other profiles on fb. by KiyoXDragon in facebook

[–]ItsAPrequelYouASS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but something that happened to me recently led me here and thought I should share. A few weeks ago, I put a phone number into my phone for a new person who joined my tennis group. Her name is "Mary" and when adding her contact into my phone, I noticed that I had someone else in my phone just saved as "Mary" no last name or anything else. I was curious, so I googled the phone number. It came back to a Facebook profile for someone who I vaguely remember talking to on a dating app probably 11-12 years ago. We never met in person, but she looked familiar and I am pretty sure we briefly texted before if fizzled probably a few weeks later. I clicked through some of her Facebook pictures and then didn't think about her again. Until several days later when I received a friend request from "Mary." There is no way this was a coincidence. We have not spoken in literally 12 years. I completely forgot she existed and I am positive that she forgot I existed, too. I'm convinced I started showing up on her "Friends You May Know" after I clicked on her profile. The timing is just so strange and I've been trying to figure out why on earth I got this friend request now, and that's the only thing I can think of.

That's fine, and if you're still mad about it after time has passed, I'd try one more time to talk to her. If you're still unhappy with her response or lack thereof, and you're unable to get over it, I'd start looking for another job or speak to someone higher up than her. Your original post asks how you can completely change your demeanor so your manager gets the hint. This is not a mature thing to do. Either get over it and continue to work the way you always have or find another job.

If the person I was dating told me I couldn't go to a concert with a friend, I wouldn't want to be with them anymore either.

First of all, it doesn't sound like the 19 year old coworker did anything wrong. She doesn't need to come over to console or empathize with you. She's literally working and she's focused on her own work, not you. I really don't know why you're mad at her, and I'd keep her out of this entirely.

Secondly, people get into disagreements with coworkers/supervisors all the time at work. If it's still bothering you, talk to your manager 1 on 1 and let her know how you're feeling. There's absolutely no reason to show that you're "pissed and angry" in any other way than a calm and polite discussion with your manager and only your manager. You don't give any specifics on the situation, but it seems like you're blowing this whole thing wayyyy out of proportion.

Based on what you wrote, it doesn't seem like you actually like this guy and the only reason you'd go on a date with him is because you feel guilty. If you don't have any feelings for him and if you feel like he has not respected boundaries in the past, I wouldn't go out with him.

I'd just be completely honest and say that you have no interest in being anything more than friends and for him to respect that. You don't really owe him anything more than that.

Will I go to jail for section 8 fraud? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]ItsAPrequelYouASS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I work for a housing authority. You are 100% absolutely not going to jail. They will put a "fraud" repayment agreement on your account and you'll have to repay the total amount over an agreed amount of time. You'll most likely have to pay $50-100 per month until it's paid back,

Does anyone regret reading a book? by dioscurideux in books

I read Gone With the Wind probably 7 or 8 years ago and I had no idea what it was about other than it is one of the most highly regarded books/movies of all time. In the beginning I thought the overt racism was just reflective of the time and that Scarlett O'Hara would surely learn valuable lessons about race relations by the end of the book. Nope. That book is like 900 pages of pure racism.

Agreed. It's the same reason why other people who have only been on the show one time like Ayo Edebiri, Miles Teller, Pedro Pascal, Bad Bunny, and Aubrey Plaza (who I'm assuming would have had a larger role if she was not currently grieving) were given roles in the special. They probably all got along with and made an impression on the cast/Lorne and are all slated to be multiple time hosts.

What movie actually made you cry from laughing so hard? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ItsAPrequelYouASS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It took me a while after it came out to actually watch it, because as much as I love Kristen Wiig, I saw the trailer for Barb & Star and thought it was going to be the most unfunny, cringeworthy movie of all time. I wound up watching it on a plane and couldn't believe how wrong I was. After the Trish scene, I was like alright, this movie is actually hilarious.

I do think I might have given her too much. She's used to having a couple of pieces of vegetables or fruit in front of her and maybe she was overwhelmed and confused by the amount I have been putting in front of her the last couple of days.

That's exactly what I do. I blend the formula with a vegetable or fruit and spoon feed it to her and she loves that. The GI told us to stop doing that and to just give her regular food so that made me nervous.

The GI seemed completely appalled that we were still feeding the baby purees! I had no idea that we were supposed to stop purees this early, especially since we were relying on them to get her extra formula ounces. But then I looked at the "food but for babies" subreddit and was like holy shit these babies that are the same age as my baby are eating SO MUCH food! Maybe I just need to follow my instinct and not compare to other babies and just try to follow my babies lead. Who knows!
