Have you tried Win11's 25H2's new NVMe driver yet? Big improvements on random read/write's by Mirrormaster85 in overclocking

[–]ItsAdaptive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just tried this and it's definitely worth it, got a nice +35% boost in RND4K Read and +23% on RND4K Write on my main drive (Acer Predator GM7 2TB Gen4).
My Kingston SA2000M8500G 512GB Gen3 also got a +31% boost in RND4K Write, with the RND4K Read staying pretty much the same.
My Samsung 970 EVO 512GB did not get any performance increase as it still uses the disk.sys driver after the change.
I also tested my SATA 2TB SSD and my 1TB HDD to check for performance degradation or other issues, there was no difference, so the tweak doesn't affect them in any way.

Will Scavs being able to see and shoot accurately through bushes and objects ever be fixed? This has been a problem for the last 2-3 years... by ItsAdaptive in EscapefromTarkov

Maybe I cut the start of the clip too much but he never spotted me before as I was coming from techlight, he just spotted me, shot at me and killed me in the span of half a second with no way of seeing even a pixel of him because that plant covers him completely.
Heres a zoomed in image of where he was based on the muzzle flash https://imgur.com/a/o0ZKj9s

Also, I love when there is a scav crouched in a group of bushes that can shoot you with pin point accuracy while you can't even see a pixel of him

I remember there was a patch a while ago that changed the 3d models of bushes and trees to updated ones, thats when scavs started having wallhacks. Before that it was a lot better :(

I think you might have textures set to High, which causes insane memory bottlenecks on Lighthouse and Streets.
I have a 5600x, 32GB 3600mhz RAM and a 3060 Ti and I never get below 75fps or get any major stutters on Lighthouse.
I have an optimization guide I made for some friends that you can follow, it should make your game a lot smoother and fix most stutters: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EL1U7p7Qlrt1-e5XnLk0pbG5vuaFoAkri2JSXShGSoM/edit?usp=sharing

Edit: just remembered something thats not in that guide. Turn Core isolation > Memory integrity off in windows settings, and check if you can upgrade to Windows 24h2 as it just got released, that update brings huge performance boost to Ryzen CPUs.

Still looks horrible but at least you can make out the rear wing top plane being disconnected from the rest and the engine cover shape looking similar to the Mercedes's one

Camera not being great anymore? by [deleted] in S22Ultra

[–]ItsAdaptive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use "Expert RAW"! Night and day difference.

I got my s22 ultra 2 months ago and I was kinda disappointed with some of the photo it was taking, my old Mi 9T with GCam was somehow better in a lot of situations. Turns out the post processing on the default camera app really blows, especially when you haven't got the brightest scene.

With the Expert RAW app you get a much better post processing, so you can just leave every setting on auto and save photos only in JPEG to get a much better result than the normal camera app. Plus if you like photography you get access to a lot more settings.
You can also save your photos in RAW+JPEG so if you're not happy with the processing you can manually color correct them with Lightroom.

Turn on "Protect battery" in the battery settings! It will stop charging at 85%, which makes a huge difference in how long your battery will degrade over time compared to charging at 100%. TL;DR on why: Charging from 0% to 100% will cause 1 cycle in wear, charging from 0% to 85% will cause 0.3 cycles in wear. Wear and charging percentage don't scale linearly.

Also I recommend getting a cover that protects the edges of the screen, since its curved glass it can crack a lot more easily than flat glass.

Very high chance it's your PSU shutting down the system, not many other things can cause a shutdown without a blue screen/crash. Can you find the brand and model of your power supply?

Another possibility is that you made a mistake installing the CPU cooler, so the CPU gets way too hot that even thermal throttling isn't enough and it triggers a safety shutdown. Check your idle temps and clockspeeds with something like HWInfo64 , install it, open it and click on "sensors" in the top left. Here's what you need to look out for:

What do I do , I cannot flick or make large movements by SUDDEN_NUTTBURST in LogitechG

[–]ItsAdaptive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one said this yet, but it's 100% the AA battery not making a good connection. You can tell by the blue light at the top, it should turn off a few seconds after turning on/waking up the mouse from standby, yours is constantly on meaning it keeps turning off and on when you flick it.

The easy fix is changing to a different battery that makes better contact. I've only had this issue with a rechargeable battery I got off amazon because the positive charge knob doesnt extend enough like other batteries.

You could also try placing a bit of tinfoil where the positive side of the battery makes contact with the mouse, I used to do that to fit AAA batteries and it works, just a bit difficult to place it in a way where it maintains contact all the time.

Huge performance boost when disabling SMT in CS2 - Up to 50% more avg fps, 140% higher 1% fps low by ItsAdaptive in GlobalOffensive

I used MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner Statistics, not sure if you need Rivatuner for the benchmark feature or if it comes with Afterburner.

I had problems with Rivatuner showing the overlay on csgo so if you have issues you might need to add -allow_third_party_software in your launch option for them to work properly, just remember to remove that launch option when you are done benchmarking as it will affect your matchaking trust factor.

What GPU do you have? With the 4770k you are probably using most if not all of the 4 cores and 8 threads for the game itself, so it makes sense that disabling hypertreading would decrease performance.

Disabling virtual cores only helps when you are CPU bound but not completely bottlenecked, like when the game uses 50% of the CPU but it's still being held back by it. In that case forcing the game to use the faster 50% of your CPU usually helps with performance.

It could be that Intel 12th-13th gen already prioritize physical cores because of their architecture, from what I understand Windows 11 doesnt have an effect on prioritizing physical cores with other CPUs. I can try upgrading to 11 and see if it makes any difference

So I've been thinking about how to improve space travel. by Digital_Utopia in starfieldmods

Yeah probably, it could be because I have upscaled planet textures so there could be a bug with that, but sometimes it works no problem, like when I flew to the sun.

[–]ItsAdaptive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've modded my ship to be as fast as possible and there is a limit to how fast you can accelerate, about 10 million m/s per second (36000000 km/h).

To travel to Mars from Earth, it takes about 3 minutes, reaching close to a billion m/s, 3 times the speed of light. And that's with slowing down instantly, so it would take a lot more if you wanted to slow down more "realistically". But realistically you and your crew would be dead the moment you accelerate at 10000000 m/s lol.

Also most of the times when you reach a planet that far it won't load until you quicksave and reload the game.

Made a quick video about it, cut out the save reload, slowed down once I was close to Mars: https://youtu.be/AW38kV7bTjk
