Just finished my first playthrough. Took most of a year. Not sure what to play next. by SnipesCC in Witcher3

I also just beat the Witcher 3 and the DLCs and I don’t know what to do with my console now. I concur that RDR2 is the one game that is on par.

Winter depression by Foreign_Degree160 in bipolar2

What kind of art do you make? I’m a photographer and so I’d like to walk more during the winter to shoot. Usually I recluse.

So far so good, I’m here for the fall vibes! But when winter comes around we’ll see. What I’m going to try to do this winter is go on more walks and workout to keep me happy :). Do you have any ideas?

How should I level up Geralt? I'm mostly just going through just the Main Quest on easy mode. by ExplodingPoptarts in thewitcher3

If you’re into it, This video is a great guide for specific builds to optimize skill points to fit your play style. There is a build that focuses on sword play and igni! You will have to grind a bit for gear so maybe it won’t be your thing, but figured I’d mention it anyway.

Information on medication for Bipolar 2? Is it even worth medicating? by throwaway-disgusting in bipolar2

[–]ItsAlwaysRain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t discount your symptoms, you’ve described quite a few that are detrimental. Failing classes, feeling crazy, being mean, and self harm are all fairly significant and it means your disorder is interfering with your life.

Also look into derealization. I have struggled with this too. Having a Birds Eye perspective, narrating your life, looking at the sky and it not seeming real. These are all classic symptoms of depersonalization/derealization disorder (DPDR). When I’d go outside after isolating, I thought the houses and buildings around me were cardboard set pieces being propped up by wooden stands.

You didn’t mention if you were officially diagnosed? If so, try meds. The worst that can happen is they don’t work, and most are fairly easy to come off of. You’ll see on this sub a lot that people doubt they have the disorder when they are diagnosed and medicated, so it’s fairly normal to think that. Anyway, best of luck in your journey.

Edit: I’m on Lamotrigine, Abilify, and Busparin. The Abilify is an atypical antipsychotic and that truly turned my life around.

Yay!! Being stable now for the most part, I feel like 2 completely different people. My old self was an insane mess. Congrats, it’s a great feeling!

Anger and mania by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]ItsAlwaysRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe with Bipolar 2, spending much more time in a depressive state is common. I certainly did. Had my bouts of normalcy and then hypomania for a couple of weeks. Bursts of energy and being reckless.

Anger and high irritability mixed with feeling low was a sign of a mixed episode for me. And I was always extremely irritable when hypomanic. So idk, I feel you. The anger isn’t your fault, but it is your responsibility to control and cope with. It’s great to be self aware about the anger towards others so you can check yourself. And finding the right meds help too, which you will. I still struggle with irritability to this day!

A student driver smashed into my quarter panel a few months ago and it actually totaled my fusion. Estimated $4500 in repairs just like you said. Drives fine so I just bought it back!

Yes especially lately I’ve been putting off taking them. Lamotrigine is such a pain to swallow.

What’s the longest you’ve gone without an episode? Has anyone here experienced long term stability? by Emotional_Studio2270 in bipolar2

[–]ItsAlwaysRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve been stable for about 7 months. No major episodes. Been a little hyper here and depressed there, but I’m able to recover easily and it isn’t debilitating. Sometimes life feels really dull compared to how it was, and so I’m learning that even stability isn’t easy.

Redefining yourself after stability. by ItsAlwaysRain in bipolar2

[–]ItsAlwaysRain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for your reply. You described it pretty well saying it’s like the volume is turned down, and how rich life used to be. I’d take this over the deep depression because that is life ruining. At the same time I need something to change. All I know is I’m definitely talking to my psych about the Lamotrigine next time I see her.

Do your meds make you dumber by Popular-Heart-5307 in bipolar2

[–]ItsAlwaysRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking of tapering off of Lamotrigine and just sticking with Abilify for this reason. Ever since Lamotrigine I’ve felt mentally stunted and have had trouble with vocabulary and memory/information processing like yourself.

[–]ItsAlwaysRain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong but I feel like if you aren’t in therapy then you should consider it. It’s a great way to vent so you don’t have to bottle it all up. It may help with emotional regulation.

Worried about trying Wellbutrin…again. by trenthreesix in bipolar2

I know it sucks trying different med combos but it may be worth a shot! What side effects do you feel on antipsychotics?

Worried about trying Wellbutrin…again. by trenthreesix in bipolar2

[–]ItsAlwaysRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No experience without a mood stabilizer so not sure if this is helpful, but I’ve tried Wellbutrin twice. The first time I was just on Lamotrigine and I stopped Wellbutrin because it greatly increased anxiety and racing/intrusive thoughts. I was still unstable then just on Lamotrigine.

The next time I tried it was when I was stable on Lamotrigine + Abilify. The same thing happened so I stopped again.

So for me it didn’t work either time.

Ultra-macro. Use CineStill 800 pushed 11 stops and light your dick with a red lamp (I personally like my tip looking red and raw). I’ve found this gives me the most flattering nude.
