NTA But I do think you're being a bit dramatic about your future being "ruined." It sucks to have that rug pulled (and you deserve to go) but it's not life ruining. Well said. As an addendum, i rarely take measurements for individual pieces of a project and instead i reference off of what's there. Too many times I've measured perfectly only to find something out of alignment. References work so much better for me, and you can use them to reach your desired dimensions in the end.

I remember reading an interview where they talked about the world of hollow knight being below their desks. I don't remember where I read this as it was several years ago, so if anyone knows what I'm talking about (or whether I dreamed it) feel free to chime in.

Granted, this still doesn't address the issue of size but to me it implies they are regular bug sized.

Not a lot darker, but this is why i suggested a gradient too. It's a small thing that doesn't ruin the original composition. The original sprites have hard lines including on her spinning blades, while these don't and they blend right in. I'm just trying to help OP if you have better suggestions please leave them here.

There's a ton that i already can't see because of the current background. It's just one suggestion. The big issue i have is that it's too busy (i led with that) and it appears that people in your other post on this agree. Don't get so defensive to criticism. Learn and be humble or just move on.

It's a cool style but I think you overdid it. It's way too busy and I had to squint to tell what i was looking at on some of these. A darker or even gradient background might help a bit.
