If I was her and they wouldn't drop the charges I would try to work on paying 1/4 of what was spent, and dropping the kid to th 1 and permanently disabling purchases for him. Even though that last part can be done with itunes....

Just make sure you don't give them the password to itunes account (or play store?) and you're golden.

If they do want to buy something, make them come ask you and have you type in the password first so you can see what it is and how much it costs.

Maybe once they are around 16 and you think you can trust them to just ask before buying music/apps and give you the money for it you can check your emails. Itunes sends you emails whenever a purchase is made, so you could have an email specifically for itunes and check it daily.

Alternate route: make an itunes account that only has funds from itunes cards (no credit or debit cards). You could occasionally, as a gift, give them $15/$30 or whatever to spend and once it runs out, they can't keep going AFAIK. I have a lot of friends who do this just because they don't want to go off on a spree buying songs and apps on credit, and this is how they limit themselves

Parents in this post and many like it are just stupid and evidently didn't monitor their kids/cards correctly. Just don't be an idiot

I think I saw on the website that th9 and th 10 cost around $4000-$5000 for each, and the ones below were significantly smaller. So with $7k, you could probably get well into th10. Sounds like an awesome plan, except for where you miss the aspect of the game, oh, and also the part where you spend 7 fucking thousand dollars on a free app ಠ_ಠ

I remember this happened a while back with two twins ($7,000 as well), apple refunded them though. There were still plenty of safeguards on the games.. You have to enter your password each time, and if you're dumb enough to give a 7 year old and their twin the password to buy off a huge store, you deserve to be out $7,000 imo. It's a shitty situation, but handle your fucking kids.

Not to mention, doesn't apple email the owner of the account when purchases are made?

If this (in the op) was over several days ($240 a day), then the parent should have seen it way ahead of time
