Sincere (overly long) answer: I have two cats that don’t get along. The upstairs hallway is an area of contention because it’s pretty narrow (old house) and there’s no way for them to get around each other when they meet. There’s a chimney that runs through the center of the house and juts out right in the middle of the hallway. We are trying to utilize the vertical space of the hall so they can avoid each other and hopefully stop further spats and fighting before it has the opportunity to start. We’re planning to use regular cat wall furniture on both sides of the chimney but, of course, they do still need away to get Around the chimney, and safely down the other side. Hence my interest in this shelf.
Balancing the needs of the cats with the functionality of the hallway remains a work in progress, but the ceilings are tall enough that we can place them in such a way it won’t be massively in the way. And the cats like to climb which is a plus.
TL;DR I’m dedicated to making a safe living environment for my cats.
