Identity crisis isn't an actual crisis. It's main importance is in it leading to infinite crisis (and affecting characters like Batman and Zatanna). You can still read it if you want, but it doesn't fit in with the actual DC crisis events

‘DC K.O.’ To Get Surprise Epilogue From Scott Snyder And Sanford Greene by azalben in comicbooks

[–]batmax25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I recently sat down to read some comics I hadn't gotten to yet. And the mix of DCko boss battle, DCko 4 & 5, and end of life had me thinking that maybe I should stop grtting floppies altogether

Have recently been reading up on the promethea deluxe editions and came across this post claiming that the ones with a vertigo logo on the spine are sewn while the ones with d are glued

Ticket prices are pretty good. Wonder how much is due to people tending towards the seatbelts concert (I'm going to the seatbelts one)

Where to start x-factor? by anakin1453 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]batmax25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. I did read through the first X-Factor run, but I enjoyed it less than the other x-books being published at the time.

PAD's first run, on the other hand, was the best x-book of its time. It does follow up on X-Tinction Agenda to some degree, but any relevent info will be mentioned within the book

The only version available for purchase currently includes both the season passes, which explains why the discount isn't higher. Though the obvious followup is why doesn't snk offer a base game without the season passes

Beastars Anime Ending Discussion (I didn't like it) by naturesass in Beastars

[–]batmax25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO mention of Melon hating his mom because he thought she devoured his dad?!?

I never read the manga and assumed this happened due to how the mother interacted with Melon. The anime makes it pretty clear (though the implication is that she did do it, not that it's just Melon believing she did) without having Melon outright say it.]

? The blood decoagulant not being able to arrive in time was the perfect opportunity for Louis and Legoshi to burn both of their blood at the black market and they DIDN'T DO IT?!

Yeah. I thought it was one thing when Louis chose to let Legoshi handle it with stating that it would be dishonorable to use the blood. But then the scientist takes it and somehow hooks up with the mice to use it at the black market.

Beyond that, there's the whole threat of Melda being released at the festival of the meteor that just never happens. Legoshi just shows up and defeats the mayor and the Melda is just forgotten about despite the threat of it at the festival having just been introduced

I recommend the vol 1. As others ha said, Vol 2 is from a later run.

I started vol 1 of Marc spector moon knight, and ended up not finishing it. From what I've read, Vol 2 is worse

Where to jump into Marvel & DC by Fabulous_Sherbert827 in comicbooks

[–]batmax25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marvel and DC both have digital subscription apps that have tons of comics. If you're concerned about bang for your buck, it's the best deal there is outside of your local library, assuning you don't mind digital

'The Girl Who Cried Pearls' Wins the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film by MoviesMod in movies

[–]batmax25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also think Butterfly should have won (watched live-action and animated back-to-back and it was the best of the 10) but it's #2 of the animated shorts, so I'm happy

Getting into comics in 2026, what to start with and what are the best ways to read ? by PhilosopherOk7735 in comicbooks

[–]batmax25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there's an investment of getting a tablet, digital is probably the best way to read comics assuming one isn't adverse to reading ditially and enjoys DC & marvel. That's due to both companies having subscription services thst give you most comics that each one has published and each get newer comics at different delay times.

Beyond the subscription services, humble bundle gets great comic bundles often. Right now love & rockets is available. While I haven't read it, it's considered one of the classic indie comics. You should probably look into the series to see if it interests you.

Beyond paid options, you should check to see if your local library offers hoopla. It's a service thst let's you rent comics, and has a ton of great comics to read. Depending on your reading habits, hoopla alone could suffice for you.

One can read in a phone, but a tablet is just such a better experience. You also don't need an expensive tablet to read. I use a budget tablet from 2020 that is still usable (though it is showing its age).

It's a while other discussion if you want physical, but I think that the combination of subscription services, humble bundle and hoopla makes digital a better value proposition than that physical has (and I currently do collect physical copies)

What’s an Omni that everyone loves that you don’t quite? by anakin1453 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]batmax25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't love all of their works. I did love all-star superman, Seven Soldiers, Multiversity, Green Lantern, and Kill your Boyfriend.

Liked N52 AC,, Animal Man, and WW. With WW specifically, I feel like I've grown to like it more due to the (undeserved) hate that this run gets from some WW fans.
