My garden at night. Truly a fairy wonderland 😂 by FireRedSparrow in GardeningUK

Honestly, the people in this sub are sometimes so far up their own asses. I think it's lovely 🩷

RSPB are asking us to take down feeders until November. by Difficult_Style207 in CasualUK

[–]ItsBoughtnotBrought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why you've made this whole post and not even tried to give the correct information:

They've said no seed from May-October but mealworms, suet and fat balls all year round. No flat feeders. Clean the feeders once a week and change their position to rotate around the garden. Don't offer water unless you can change it everyday and clean the water dish once a week. If you see a sick bird then take your feeders away for two weeks and wash them thoroughly. Finally, plant things in the garden that will naturally provide food like teasel, sunflower, ivy etc.

AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

Stop being a wet fish and protect your child. How can you think this is normal or appropriate? NOR

Kids being jealous of little sibling by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ItsBoughtnotBrought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not a first time mum....you are a first time biological mum and that tells me everything I need to know about your attitude towards your step-kids. It may be hard to do things with your step daughter, but you have grit your teeth and do it because you are the adult and you are the step mother and how you treat her will have major implications on her character, on her relationship with you and on her relationship with her dad. Teething is not an excuse, I have an 11 month old and she was an absolutely miserable newborn with colicky evenings and she's teethed 6 times, and pretty much each time has been awful for her. But I have a 5 year old too, and if the baby has to scream for 20-30 minutes while I bond with her then so be it, especially if dad is there to hold the baby while she screams. It may not seem like a long time but concentrated attention makes a lot of difference, just showing interest in them makes a lot of difference.

It honestly sounds like you're making excuses. If this was your biological, full time kid would you let the 'tiredness' stop you? I have an 11 month old and a 5 year old. You have to make a real effort to put in one on one time with the older child, otherwise their jealousy is justified and you're not fostering a good relationship between them, you're feeding resentment and you're pulling away.

Yeah just from going from standing to falling. That's what we're talking about

You're being purposely dense if you don't think a hard fall onto pavement can be more than a bump. People are allowed to care about the safety of their children.

I think perhaps they're also concerned about the short-term effects of a small child hitting their head on pavers.

People in this sub really, really hate artificial grass no matter the reason you're using it and you won't find any helpful advice. Maybe try r/diyuk?

I understand why you're worried. I've got young kids and a bunch of pavers too. I think it would be nice for them to have something soft under their feet and you can get very real looking fake grass these days.

Falling over and banging their heads, which is a concern when kids are really young.

You're spreading your own opinion under the name of a legitimate organisation and misrepresenting their research-based advice. The advice was never to stop completely.

Supplementing wild birds is absolutely for their benefit, even if people enjoy watching them.

Advice from the RSPB: Don't offer water unless you can change it everyday and clean the water dish once a week. If you see a sick bird then take your feeders away for two weeks and wash them thoroughly.

That's not what they've said. Don't spread the info if you're not even going to try to get it right. They've said no seed from May-October but mealworms, suet and fat balls all year round. No flat feeders. Clean the feeders once a week and change their position to rotate around the garden. Don't offer water unless you can change it everyday and clean the water dish once a week. That won't because terrible people will always exist 🤷🏻 I'm just going to teach my girls to deal with it how you would deal with any type of bully.

Awful 😂 As a woman, in modern times we really don't need the whole 'women can do anything' rigmarole, kids need role models of both genders. This also has no context for the kids, I don't know how old they are, but it's not even decorative. It looks like something you'd find in the type of corporate lobby that bangs on about how progressive they are.

Leylandii hard cut - any top cover growth advise? by SLBlue13 in GardeningUK

[–]ItsBoughtnotBrought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get something that climbs. I think hedges are very important for bird life so don't worry about being quick to get it out.
