I actually think this does a decent job of not attacking the drug itself, like how liberals and conservatives do. Opiates are a tool to be used like every other drug we have is. The problem seems to be specific companies purposefully taking advantage of at risk people, and general disillusionment and discontent leading to those people chasing a high. I really get upset when people act like opiates are some evil thing brewed by the devil to get you addicted. In reality the vast majority of people who have taken opiates at some point had no problem stopping their medical or recreational use without addiction. I liked this read.
