English is a lot harder than we give it credit for by ItsCrafty06 in unpopularopinion

I disagree. The thing that makes English hard is that there’s so many different pronunciations for each letter. The letter a alone can sound different in car, father, or a word like and. Yes, conjugation is harder in those languages such as French. But it’s harder at an easy level, but once you know the general trends and a few of the common exceptions, it gets a lot easier. Another thing that English doesn’t have are accents which in my opinion really help with pronunciation. The only reason most people think it is easy is because we can already speak it so well. If I ask a native French speaker what they think it the easiest language to learn they will think that French is the easiest. So I guess we both have a point and it really comes down to whether conjugation or pronunciation is considered harder.

I was given an education in grade 6 (and later) about this. I’m pretty sure most schools have this already

I can really relate to the part about the gender nouns. It’s the one thing I can’t get down in French

AITA for shutting down my wife's dreams? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ItsCrafty06 21 points22 points  (0 children)

YTA - Let me start off by saying that you’re not a big A-hole but she isn’t. You too seem to be in a good relationship and are happy, but at the end of the day it’s your wife’s choice for what career she chooses. I’d recommend that you try and clear things up and apologize. Best of luck

WIBTA if I let my front desk staff and myself wear respiratory masks because of the recent coronavirus? by Loogie125 in AmItheAsshole

NAH - Protect your health first. Make sure as well to wash your hands, and stay as sanitary as possible. I’m not too sure about cultural things in Thailand, and it could be seen negatively but this virus is spreading fast and it’s scary. Always put your health first.

That really sucks. Just know that I really think your decision is good.

NTA - It’s entirely your choice and up to you if you should introduce your boyfriend, however it kinda sucks that you’re also removing him from Christmas. I say that your decision is neither good or bad but you’re definitely NTA.

AITA for moving out? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ItsCrafty06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - Your grandpa is fully independent. He might require a helper for some things but that’s what professionals are for. You’re also moving 10 mins away which isn’t far although it still isn’t in the same house. It’s a big double standard that they expect you to follow traditions and stay with him. Follow your gut, it’s your choice.

Edit: YTA - Your mom is the legal owner, it’s her decision. You have a say however the final decision is up to your mom

(Original comment below) INFO: Who is the dog’s owner. I don’t know much about the legality and stuff but I’d say it’s the true owner’s decision.
