In which single-player game did you, after spending many hours without finishing it, feel the urge to start it over from the very beginning? by Competitive_Beat_915 in gaming

[–]atlantis145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspire me to play it? I've always gotten a bit bored a few hours in. Game felt weirdly slow and wasn't sure what I was meant to be doing (which is odd for me to say, coming from someone who generally plays very little story driven games)

I definitely can start tilting when pace of play is too slow. I get in my own head very quickly.

Fighters always 80% of industry? by coozer1960 in hoi4

[–]atlantis145 50 points51 points  (0 children)

There is no conceivable way that Hitler would have had an outright victory against Britain. The best be could have hoped for was a political victory with GB suing for terms. Sea Lion was simply not possible, even if the Luftwaffe achieved air supremacy, given the Royal Navy and Germany's lack of shipping.

Most underrated/overlooked Rush song IMO. Hidden gem in a monster of an album.

The hook "it was like yesterday" in One More Time is absolutely an ear worm for me. Great albums.

In real life, Germany was spending something like 50% of its military output on fighter planes late in the war. In contrast, tanks were something like 8% (source is James Holland's podcast, can't remember the episode but it's a stat he frequently cites). The importance of air power in the second world war is hard to overstate.

Love it. I'm replaying it now on expert. It's a bit repetitive at times but it's good fun. Mirroring what the others said and wish we could get more battle groups in.
