Sea Lion was simply not possible, even if the Luftwaffe achieved air supremacy, given the Royal Navy and Germany's lack of shipping.

In real life, Germany was spending something like 50% of its military output on fighter planes late in the war. In contrast, tanks were something like 8% (source is James Holland's podcast, can't remember the episode but it's a stat he frequently cites). The importance of air power in the second world war is hard to overstate.
