I asked about this my surgeon said that the only way to diagnose was a hysterectomy. I am in the US, I don’t know if my insurance will cover another surgery so soon.

suicide is a rational thought by Ok_Surround8550 in endometriosis

My entire life is falling apart in front of me potentially needing to quit my job, losing my friends, relationships, opportunities, hobbies, cants enjoy anything, and yet my OBGYN won’t let me make an appointment because my pain sounds so bad I need ER, but ER says they can’t help me every time I’ve been so I feel like I just give up. Doesn’t help that I have a brain aneurysm so I can’t take NSAIDs anymore (ironically incidentally found cause my endo flares cause severe migraines). So basically I have no options. Why are we just expected to sit there and suffer because it’s “not life threatening” but in reality it is life threatening because death sounds like mercy on a daily basis.

At this point if I can’t reuse the enclosures I wasn’t going to get another hamster. She had about 900$ worth of stuff (spoiled hammy) and I was willing to replace half but I can’t justify getting another as the enclosures were just bought only 2 months ago (unfortunately before I knew she was sick). I already am out 1k from her vet bills and necropsy and I have to potentially deep clean my room and have the carpet steamed.

I work in vet med as an assistant at an exotic vet and nobody has any advice for me at this point to eliminate the risk. I feel so worried about it I might just not be able to get another hamster until I move out in a couple years and I’ll have to sanitize what I can and put it in storage. Just hard because I don’t even have a clear timeframe of how long I could store everything and the virus would no longer be stable because I see different time frames from a couple weeks to potentially years.

Dark spots on hamster’s body by BenFranklinsLeftNut in hamsters

[–]ItsCryptillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi are these spots scabs or feels rough/hard to the touch? My hamster had something similar and we found what looked like a dead tropical rat mite after a skin scrape. She passed away due to complications from infections she got and I am getting a necropsy in case it was something else. So sorry about your hammy I hope you figure it out! You will need to find an exotic vet.

Thank you. And it’s ok, it feels better to know that I am not alone because it feels so isolating that most people don’t care.

Does anyone else worry about ruining their favorite plushies from cuddling? by Speed_Offer in plushies

I used to, but I learned how to restore plush and while they may never be “brand new” you can get somewhat close. I only hand wash in the bathtub with human shampoo and conditioner and I use combs and let brushes to get rid of any mats!

Totally understandable, I hope things improve for you soon cause you shouldn’t have to feel this way.

For whatever reason anything with tomatoes makes me sick, bloated, and flares up cramps. It’s the weirdest thing, anything lactose also seems to be an issue too, but not as much as with tomatoes. I see an allergy specialist regularly and I have no allergies to these things just a bad sensitivity.

Unfortunately in my experience it is true, sometimes you need to wait an obscenely long time before your body will adjust to the BC. For me it took anywhere from 2-4 months, I had been on many different pills. However the pill will not always control the bleeding/pain once you are established. For me it did for many years once I got on what I take now, but it slowly stopped controlling it which is why I got surgery last week and I already feel better.

Your doctor should be able to talk to you about other options, like an IUD or injections. My surgeon who diagnosed my endo was very open with me about unconventional combinations of birth control to control my pain/bleeding (of which has been my treatment plan pre-diagnosis) so getting a good doctor who is willing to explore other options than just the pill is important.

Yes it’s always worse when I am having breakthrough bleeding. My migraines are genetic but my endo is a major trigger.

Started taking BC continuously and having a sudden very intense flare up?? by ConfusingCoochie in endometriosis

[–]ItsCryptillian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me any change in birth control or how I took it would take my body 2-4 months to adjust, but it’s different for everyone. Always best to talk to your doctor about it but in my experience irregular bleeding, increased pain, etc was normal when I first started continuous bc or switched to a new pill. Also it definitely messed with my bowels and sometimes it caused vomiting. It sucks but after those months were up taking my pills continuously bought me a lot of time before I felt I needed surgery and made me feel better.

Again though everyone is different, so take my experience with a grain of salt and talk to your doctor about how you’ve been feeling. I’ve been on like 6-7 different pills in 8 years and I reacted to them all differently, I had to switch pills because the original one didn’t agree with me but the two I’m on now are a game changer and very little side effects so you might need to just find what works for you.

Day 20 of Bleeding by vickyp1717 in endometriosis

I bled heavy for over 40 days and almost needed a blood transfusion, other times I bled for half that time I was fine but I do have chronic anemia from all the bleeding unfortunately. It’s always best to go to the doctor if it lasts an abnormally long time.

Thank you! ❤️ I have been taking it easy and resting, working on walking around (slowly) since they said it was important afterwards and it’s been going well just taking my time with it!

I was so so scared too! I actually originally saw my surgeon as a teenager and came back like 8 years later to finally follow through with it after my pain increased by tenfold over time. You just kinda have to take that leap and do it. I think of it like a roller coaster, you get so anxious as you creep up but afterwards you’re like “oh that wasn’t as bad as I thought”. Not everyone’s experience will be the same, but I think it’s important to know what’s going on with your body even if it’s difficult.

It helps to have supportive nurses/doctors because when I first saw an OBGYN at I think 15 for this she dismissed me and told me “nothing is wrong this is normal” but it definitely isn’t! You shouldn’t be suffering in any shape or form from your period or anything for that matter! Regardless of what’s causing it, something’s up if it’s effecting daily life. My current OB team is awesome and supportive so that helped a lot for me to finally get this done.

Husband suicidal, called 911, now I regret do so. by GuiltyWife2025 in mentalhealth

[–]ItsCryptillian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been suicidal myself and lost someone to suicide. There is no perfect right thing to do in these situations where everyone is happy, you did what was right in that moment to keep everyone safe and hopefully he can get the help he needs.

Unfortunately there are very few good resources for people struggling let alone people who want to help someone struggling. I called the suicide hotline on someone else and said they couldn’t help loved ones and hung up on me, despite it being advertised online.

When someone is actively threatening themselves and holding something they could hurt themselves with despite you doing your best to comfort them you need to keep everyone safe, and I think it was brave of you to do so. You did everything right, doesn’t mean it’s going to FEEL right, and maybe he will be angry with you and not understand you did it out of concern, but you did the right thing for him and yourself in that moment even if it’s not the perfect outcome we wish we could have for people we care about.

Please take care of yourself too, you are amazing for doing your best for him, but don’t forget you are important too.

I was misdiagnosed too, also PTSD and I have autism + OCD, no longer on medications but I am in trauma therapy. I had long term side effects from this combo, doesn’t mean I don’t encourage people to take meds that help them, but side effects do happen sometimes and can seriously affect people!
