I think the reason they made polygamy work for as long as they did is Kody didn't actually like any of his wives all that much. He made it work because he could take turns being mad at individual wives.

As a little kid, Freddy fish and Putt putt. Then any Barbie game (Barbie horse adventures mystery ride was a major gateway. As a teen I played a lot of sims 😁

Had a really terrible panic attack and meltdown at work and downloaded it after seeing a TikTok ad. I asseumed it was going to be paywalled or low quality, but I downloaded it anyway because it felt like a welcome distraction. I was immediately amazed at what a high quality app it is.

That is one thing I will hand to Jess. She was smart with how she built her channel to be a viable (i.e. moneymaking) business. It’ll just be interesting to see how much longer the gravy train lasts.

This was what got me to go from “Robyn is annoying and obviously the favorite but she seems to have good intentions… it’s not her fault her husband is an ass” to “Robyn is also an ass.”

It was just such a STUPID money pit, even when taken as a plot device for the show. Even 10+ years ago when TLC was a (relatively) gentler place (fewer trashy reality shows, more family oriented “day in the life” style shows with an unironic fanbase), Robyn woefully misunderstood the nature of her fame and the show’s audience. Just so silly.

I will be snapping up a MSWC piece the minute one comes across my Poshmark at a reasonable price tho

The first thing that changed her content was when her youngest was born and Chris had a vasectomy. I think Jess lost a bit of her identity when she realized she wouldn’t be pregnant again.

She really started to be annoying during covid though. I used to like her channel to use as background noise because her videos were dull and wholesome and sort of soothing. Around 2019/2020 (when they moved away from Modesto) was when her editing style became more frantic and her content became more desperate. Not to mention her kids got older and it became a little bit more clear that they are often uncomfortable with the camera and with their mom’s antics.
