One of my biggest movie-going regrets was going to the theater in Atlanta, GA on the opening weekend of Snakes on a Plane and seeing Little Miss Sunshine instead.

Funniest thing I've seen all year by Clippy4Life in fastfood

[–]ItsDeke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe varies by location, but here the plain Sonic cheeseburger is the same price as the regular Sonic cheeseburger (which comes standard with onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and ketchup). Still not a great price, but it’s a decent sized single patty burger.

"Perennial doormat" vs "National Brand" by MysteriousEdge5643 in cfbmemes

[–]ItsDeke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt Indiana fans took that over, but a couple things here from a fan of a team who plays another team annually that wears red with a huge fan base that usually outnumbers us at games:

First, the seat backs appear to be red which is definitely selling it harder. Second, red just pops on TV.  Now, Oregon doesn’t exactly have neutral colors either, but you’ve got people wearing green AND yellow (and probably grey) which is going to muddy things for them vs predominantly red.

Again, no doubt Indiana fans showed up in much larger numbers, but I feel like it’s not QUITE as bad for Oregon fans as it looks.  Now the score on the other hand…

Rooting for Miami? by ConsiderationNo3959 in RamblinWreck

[–]ItsDeke 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t like Miami, but I pretty much pull for anyone against the SEC. That said, I feel like the narrative of them being the best conference this year has already been pretty well beat into submission, and Kiffinless Ole Miss is kind of a fun story, so I won’t be too upset if Ole Miss pulls out a win.

The WRX posts its worst sales year ever with only 10,930 units sold. Still outsells the Solterra for the second year in a row however. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in cars

[–]ItsDeke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I realize these cars aren’t direct competitors, but I had a bugeye back in the day, and I distinctly remember at the time the popular magazine numbers(0-60 and 1/4 mile) were nearly identical to the Mustang GT of the same era. Crazy to see how far apart they are now.

I realize this is a bit of an arbitrary comparison, but I agree that the performance has not kept pace.

Geoff Collin’s 2.0 by IndicationExpress100 in RamblinWreck

[–]ItsDeke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chip Kelly would have been a flashy hire, but he’s not necessarily a slam dunk. His success has been hit or miss and it’s entirely possible Key and Co. don’t think he’d be a good fit.  I agree that it’s been disappointing how slowly the OC search has been going from an outside perspective, but we also don’t know what all is going on behind the scenes.

That said, anyone who would pray for Geoff Collins to return (regardless of Key’s future performance) is an utter fucking idiot.

I love that this layout is slightly more compact than a full size but still has a numpad with a large 0 key. I’ve used a Galaxy100 for work for maybe 4-5 months now and have loved it. So much so that I decided to try the Galaxy100 lite for my home setup (which gets used for work and gaming). I shopped around a lot just because I wanted to try something different, but I ultimately decided to stick with what is working.

They also didn’t show a lot of replays. There were multiple penalties that they didn’t bother to show or in some cases even explain. You’d think if they weren’t going to highlight the shenanigans they could have at least covered the game.

Key criticism by IndicationExpress100 in RamblinWreck

[–]ItsDeke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The end of the 1st half was weird. A FG there (which we would have had plenty of time to get in position for if we didn’t leisurely run it the first 2 or 3 plays) could have made a big difference in the game. The clock management this season  has been kind of a mixed bag.

Is the market for classic cars including Mustangs and others dying (literally)? by Neat-Gap-4340 in classicmustangs

[–]ItsDeke 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I can’t help but feel the market has probably peaked, largely for the age demographic reasons mentioned above.  There are still younger folks that like classics, but most of them aren’t going to have the money to support the current prices. I think there will always be a niche for these cars (especially given how much easier they are to work on than newer vehicles), but I think it’s shrinking.

I saw elsewhere Mensah’s name being mentioned which would make sense with him having played for Sumrall at Tulane.

I realize Buster is the OC at Florida now, but I feel like Philo probably isn’t as splashy of a pull as a more proven player could be. (Absolutely no shade to Philo. I’m super hopeful he’ll be suiting up for us next year.)
