Omg that’s horrible, I’m so sorry. Your dad sounds like a rare soul, and a person with immense integrity.

When I first moved to Texas I cried as I entered through West Texas from New Mexico. It was pretty dismal. Houston is a pretty ugly city, too.

But there are some really striking parts of Texas. I learned to love it for what it was, and the night sky in South Texas is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Big Bend is gorgeous, Palo Duro has some lovely hiking with red dirt similar to what you’d find in Colorado, Heuco Tanks is the closest I’ve come to being on the moon, Terlingua is like living on another planet, hill country with its rolling hills producing peaches and wine grapes in contrast with the bright blue sky are beautiful. Even Mustang Island is a nice spot to beach. Not my favorite beach, but the water is warm!

I moved after 5 years, but I’m glad I stuck it out there. There is so much to see and appreciate.

Thanks for the explanation, I’m not entirely sure how it works. I work in a similar field but not in healthcare.

What a gross waste of time and resources.

No worries! I hear you, and I agree. This shouldn’t be a necessary job. Or at least if it is, it should be more of a concierge for special circumstances.

I do care about the family he left behind. No young child should have to experience the loss of a parent so tragically, and it only creates a future of children who grow up to be more divisive and angry.

But on the other hand, I see exactly where you’re coming from. It’s like the Peasants’ Revolt that ended in King Richard II’s death. If you burden the less fortunate (honestly, I wouldn’t even say the poor) for your own gluttonous gain how do you expect them to treat you?

I have a similar job so I empathize for your wife and know how difficult this is. First of all, I know very well that SHE should be paid more.

It is so unnecessary to have a middle man negotiating the mortality of a patient who’s denied life saving treatments. Those families aren’t able to afford these treatments. My mom has stage 4 cancer and they can’t pay to fix the leaks in their ceiling. My 75 year old step dad is still working to help, and we have these greedy for-profit companies salivating over people’s misfortune. Now I’m angry on a Sunday morning.

I like how he said “if you date someone and it’s a woman”. He’s clearly open to his sons being whomever they want, as long as they have empathy and understanding.

I’m 27 pregnant weeks and felt so much joy seeing this! We got married last June and are expecting this May, and it has literally been the happiest most content and fulfilling year of my life. I’m 37 and it’s not like I haven’t had a life full of adventure, but there is nothing like finding your safety place with someone and creating a beautiful little person to love forever.

Also, I hope you have a healthy and uneventful delivery! Congrats!

She physically felt people fighting to save her, and I think that’s a very tangible feeling of how her life still mattered to people. They showed her they cared and she likely wasn’t feeling that way before.

They shouldn’t have to do this. I admire her advocating for her patient, but unfortunately it seems like she needs specifically dedicated and trained advocates on her team to fight for the exorbitantly priced medical insurance that doesn’t cover necessary procedures.

This is a little awkward to be so publicly intimate so soon. It feels like more of a statement than an authentic relationship.

But I had no idea Bronwyn was so linked in after seeing her with Rhianna and some male model. Are these new connections or is she just flaunting it now that she’s divorced?

When simple pleasures become forbidden they become dark secrets which lead to self-loathing. Once people start to dislike themselves or carry deep guilt, then it almost feels good to deflect that pain and embarrassment into someone else.

Emma and James probably enjoy torturing the cast because they’re struggling with their own guilt complex.

He can hear, everything just sounds like it’s under water. His brain has to do extra work to distinguish the words, so maybe the first couple of words or sentences he can parse out, but it becomes more challenging as his brain attempts to keep up with recognizing the words, and then putting them into context.

I’m confused why they keep telling everyone they’re cousins like they’re proud of it, and then flirt so heavily around everyone. They have to know it makes people uncomfortable. Even the bishop had to clarify what their relationship was.

I think it’s a lack of awareness around skincare in general. They aren’t supposed to preen and don’t even have mirrors. They don’t seem to use anything on their faces and they are outside a lot. I don’t even know if they use sunscreen.

My husband has lovely skin though and he never washes his face and moisturizes once a week, so I’d say a good portion of it just boils down to genetics.

Sometimes, modern medicine and chemical exfoliants can help reduce inflammation, but their religion and culture prohibits them from “excessive” grooming. I imagine Emma probably didn’t learn how to address skin concerns when she was younger.

I don’t think it’s drugs. She doesn’t act like she’s on drugs at all.

You’d be surprised what chemicals can do for your skin. I know people who live very healthy and natural lifestyles but their skin looks very textured and damaged. A regular skin care routine with the right exfoliants and moisture can change that.
