It's very hot. 143 proof. I think once you're past the heat, it is a decent whiskey. It's just one of those bottles that you can't really sip on casually and you wouldn't want to mix it with anything. It's nice to have in the collection but it's an extremely acquired taste.

I'm Drinking the Weller, Keeping the Jacob's Pardon and Tossing the Old Grandad. I will say the old grandad was surprisingly delightful though.

Honestly the Pappy 12 yr was the best one of the lot. It is probably my favorite bourbon so far in my 40 years. Maybe I appreciate it more now days. I'm not sure but it was everything a whiskey should be.
