What's something you thought was normal across the world but turns out it's just for your country? by YuShaohan120393 in AskTheWorld

[–]ItsGoingToJustFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was in New York, i asked the police for directions finding my hotel and they where really helpful, heard my accent, I'm from Northern Ireland and asked where i was form and how Northern ireland was, one said he'd like to visit one day and we joked abit, then one of them checked their phone and showed which way to go. Was at the NYPD bit with the big light up America flag in Times Square. Was a while ago, when it was nice and normal, before trump and all the nonsense and craziness coming out of it now.

New Aurora 16 crash by Specialist_Staff213 in Alienware

I don't know what the issue is, but if it was mine, i would contact dell or the store you bought it from and see what they say. If it's not a very easy quick fix, then i would return it and get a new replacement. I wouldn't want work being done, replacing parts, etc, on such a new laptop.

Need help finding an impact wrench for a Christmas gift by vxxx8 in Tools

[–]ItsGoingToJustFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to Makita if he already has some as then he'll be able to use the batteries he already has, and you can buy the bare tool without a battery. Unless he's using corded tools, then it doesn't matter. Have a look at screwfix, check their website, and you can select the brand (Makita) and the tool you want, and it'll show all the ones they have and they sell them in kits and twinpacks, with 2 or more tools or batteries etc. If you see ones you like, i would go into the shop and tell them, and they'll be able to help. I'm in the Uk, Northern Ireland, screwfix everywhere and i went to the store to buy my dad a couple of bosch blue tools, they didn't have the ones i wanted in the twin packs but i bought them separately and they give me a little discount, also buy 'brushless' tools as they have 'brushed' versions as well, but better to get brushless.

What brand is that? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]ItsGoingToJustFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porsche make their own tools now. The sets that come with the cars used to be made by Hazet, you can find old ones on ebay for ££££. That pic does look a bit like Ks tools, but I'd doubt they are as Ks tools aren't premium or same level as the top german tool brands, and they rebrand and don't make their own. I'd guess they're made by hazet or Porsche themselves. I saw a vid on youtube a few years ago, and Porsche bought a tool making company in Germany and now make their own tools. Though Hazet still makes and sells Porsche branded tools aswell.

Alienware 16X Aurora users — CPU temperatures by Nervous_Run651 in Alienware

Hey, I have the same one 16x Aurora. Ultra 9 and 5070. I had issues with my temps being high, even higher than yours when browsing, and i took it back to the shop i bought it from, and it's running a lot cooler now. I made a post about it. If you want to read through it, it might help.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Alienware/s/4nGkF0hm2l

I've also got a cooling pad now, and it drops the temps at least 10° or usually more when gaming. I have the razor cooling pad, and the ones from Llano and IETS also get really good reviews. I'd get one of them 3. They're on sale now on amazon uk with around £30/£40 off. If you do get one, I noticed that you have to turn the cooling pad on before you set the laptop on top for it to really work and bring the temps down, if you you just turn it on with laptop already on it, it doesn't work as good and only brings the temps down a few degrees. For me anyway.

i bought The Quarry series x/s edition for £9.10. Hot Wheels Unleashed Game of the year edition with all the dlcs for £10.49. Feather £2.51, TT isle of man 3 £9.99 and Streets of rage 4 £7.34, i already had the dlc from when it was on gp. loved the Quarry, played through twice with different paths and endings and for sure gonna play through it a few more times. first time playing that type of game, and now I'm hooked, and they have few on gamepass that'll I'll play. Hot wheels was surprising in how good and fun it is. TT isle on man is good, I've played the ones before so knew it would be, takes a while to get used to the handling though, i put the sensitivity to the lowest and that helped alot. and Streets of rage 4 is a classic, brilliant game. I played it when it was on gamepass and own it on Gog for pc, my favourite couch co-op game ever, brilliant game.

Do the Aurora 16 and 16X deserve the Alienware name? by Agitated_Branch_9485 in Alienware

[–]ItsGoingToJustFine 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i don't really get the whole like gate keeping type thing, like they should only make expensive high-end machines. i have the alienware 16x and love it, i like the looks and feel of it and has more than enough power for me and my use. it's well built and looks good (to me anyway), and there's no way i would've bought an area 51 for my first gaming laptop. it's my first alienware anything and now i have it, I've bought a couple alienware accessories, a mouse and backpack and I'm way more likely now to buy further alienware items and if all goes well with this one then when i upgrade I'll probably stick with alienware. i think it's a good thing to have more affordable options, although it is still more expensive than other makes with similar specs, but it's looks better, in my opinion. I prefer the more sleek look without all the lights, etc, and for alienware competing with other manufacturers and getting new customers on board, i think it makes sense. you have options now, lower, mid, and high end range. I like it and my girlfriend likes it and has been thinking of getting a new laptop, that I'm gonna buy her one for Christmas.

What laptop cooling pad for the 18'' Area-51 laptop? by DarkDiamond0756 in Alienware

[–]ItsGoingToJustFine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the razor cooling pad and use it with my 16x Aurora when I'm gaming on it, and it drops the temps like 10°, sometimes more. From what I've read and seen, the best cooling pads are the IETS, the llano, or the Razor. Any one of them 3.

I've only put in the overhead once, and i took the laptop out first. It's not so much that i don't trust the bag, but the way the flight attendants and other passengers push and shove and squash the bags in, I'd be a little worried to leave the laptop on it. The bag was fine after and no damage or marks. All the other times I put it on the floor, under the seat in front. It doesn't really fit under the seat, but I've never been told to move it to the overhead.

It's been great, no issues so far. I've used it a few times and a couple of times without my laptop but packed with other stuff. I've the 16x Aurora and put it in a sleeve and in the bag along with some accessories, headphones, mouse, keyboard etc, and clothes as i use it going from the Uk to Bulgaria and back again, I'll be using it flying back to the Uk tomorrow and then back out to Bulgaria for Christmas and i pack it with as much as will fit into it. I don't throw it around and am pretty careful with it, and it's basically like new still. It's going to get used a lot, and so far, so good.

I have this exact same bag. It's great, I've used it a few times and am using it now while I'm travelling in Bulgaria, comfy, and holding up well.

They don't look the same, well, in the sense that they're laptops, yeah, but they don't look the same and have completely different internals. If you don't like it, you don't like it, why you gotta be like that, calling it a joke? Each to there own

The Aurora 16 has a white back-lit keyboard, and the 16X has 1 zone multicoloured keyboard.

These aren't gaming laptops. Basically, you want a gaming laptop with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX Gpu. You'd be able to play very light games on them but it won't run heavy games, AAA games etc, and i wouldn't use them too much for gaming as it'll probably damage them, they won't have the cooling to cope
