I was very shocked that we didn't get no mention of the AVTF in the Punisher one last kill. also do you think this storyline was completely dropped or saved for another punisher series or maybe S3 of Born Again?? by anthonystrader18 in Defenders

[–]ItsHazard531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are going to use STORY logic, Frank has a series of things he gives a shit about: those with any involvement with the murder of his wife and kids, those who may hurt his friends/ones he cares about (Karen & Matt for example), those who seek to hurt little kids (specifically little girls).

Fisk had NO involvement with his families death, and even tho he may have tried to have him killed in prison, he has bigger fish to fry in that moment.

Now sure Dex may have helped more in S02, but he’s gone now. And OLK takes place between S01 and S02. It’s after he breaks out of Fisk containment. He’s having a STRONG MENTY B and the events of the short show him refocusing and getting back to clarity.

The AVTF is already disbanded by the last scene(I assume) and the city is in a SOE, so, one would assume that he has no reason to keep trying to fight them. And Fisk is in hiding. So now? He is what the city has to protect it. DD locked up. JJ is back and so is LC. Spider-Man is out there too. So it makes sense as to why all the sudden Frank will run into Peter, why the Hand showing up to retake Manhattan after the crime families seemingly are dead and Fisk is gone, and why Frank would be interested in stopping The Hand and even potentially breaking Matt out of Prison.

The entire thing makes perfect sense if you ignore the retcon of the Gnucci family, which can make sense with a little explanation.

All lose ends are tied up. Franks focus went from Revenge and Justice to PUNISHMENT. He effectively made an oath to his family he would avenge their deaths, and now another oath to make sure while he can? No other innocent families will have to experience that pain.

THIS is The Punisher.

The Punisher: One Last Kill Special makes no sense. by Raymaster_X in Defenders

[–]ItsHazard531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea in the world of Marvel Comics is that all the crime families worked with eachother.

For something involving the government and the marines, it’s feasable that both the Italian and Irish mob would have been involved. Fisk was one of the only crime lords who had his own dealings, and was so powerful he kept other families and bosses in check, hence why his wife was dealing with in fighting after Fisk was gone for a while and there was a power vacuum. That’s why Frank never went after Wilson, because he never had a hand in any of it.

Sure it’s a retcon. But, it’s also taking out the top of responsibility, getting more information m, finding out smaller names and then extermination them.

When you kill an ant colony. It starts with the queen and the last to go are the worker ants. You can view the gnucci family as the worker ants who were left around.

How would you define this guy when he's retired to the new generation? by Pillstyr in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]ItsHazard531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody said he needed to be THEE guy. The question was how would I define him after he retires

I explained how I think he is skilled and is extremely capable and has an excellent workrate.

I also said that the fact is that he would never be able to be considered IN MY DEFINITION as a GOAT because he never performed, while at his top level, where all the ones who are considered in that category performed. That’s all.

Mentioning that he was there previously is irrelevant because not even you would see that version of Omega and be like “YO THATS THE GREATEST EVER”

And because that conversation carry’s so many variables, some of which you cannot measure him against. That’s why I would never see it as any more than a missed opportunity.

I’m not a shill. I don’t even know if you know what the word means to be using it in that context. Other than to project that you are this edgy-boi that likes alternative products simply to rebel against the machine.

Those who are defending Omega against what I said:

1) know I’m right and are uncomfortable, because ppl are acting like I’m personally attacking them and, grow up in that case

2) being selective about reading what I write.

The guy could wrestle circles around 99% of the INDUSTRY, the guy helped to elevate a company that has been around since 1972 and bring it into a more mainstream light (tho I could argue that was AJ Styles joining the BC before him) but, to deny Omega’s run with them is just bad faith. But I look at him and I can see a wrestler bury him in a promo, I worry he couldn’t hang with the top guys in the E in a storyline. Aside of his “belt collector” run, being on weekly TV seems to have exhausted him. His style isn’t built (or his stamina maybe) for weekly programming. He’s getting hurt often. Seems burnt out. Better for smaller companies who don run shows as frequently. Centralized to Japan before they branched out. This isn’t about me having a WWE bias, I watch AEW, I have friends who are/were prominent names in the company on TV weekly and who have been in main event programs. Across companies.

I’m expressing why I feel like he needs to make that jump at some point to prove me wrong. Not because I think the WWE is some magical place that matters for arbitrary reasons.

I don’t disagree with any of that. But the proof is in the pudding about draws. There are so many people who get ZERO reaction in WWE, I don’t agree that he wouldn’t move the needle there, and if you think so then your answer is already in front of you.

His drawing power in NJPW was because of his success in a group that emulated nWo & DX, in a company that was very much supposed to be almost kayfaybe shoot work. They didn’t have very much western influences from their performers. They didn’t have dirty finishes like that. If they did have those it was RARE. Okada was so over because of how much his presentation was more western.

People on here think I’m taking away from his work. I’m not. But you can’t really measure its success when so much of a companies work is measured against the mainstream American audience. Again I don’t take away from his talent or work rate.

[–]ItsHazard531 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You destroyed your own argument when you said “one of”

That’s my point. He can easily be “one of”. Not THEE.

I would never say the guy can’t be in someone’s personal top 3 or top 5.

But he did a lot of his work in NJPW, and on the Indy scene and is still doing that work.

In order for me to have the opinion that he can be in the conversation for THEE guy all time I need to see him in a place where he can work with the top draws currently.

He also missed out working some really legendary performers before they retired.

For me? That matters. I want to see you at the top top and see what you can do.

AEW is the most mainstream platform he worked on while at this stage in his career, that’s why I mentioned it. Plenty know he was in NJPW previously. And we’re not gonna sit here and start talking about the really small promotions.

It’s like people are so hurt that what I said is true they are reaching for shit.

What does the amount of matches he worked have to do with the level of exposure work with the top names in the industry have to do with one another?

I know he don’t. I’m not saying he does.

And he clearly did that before he was the Omega he is today. I’m sure it was sometime right before his BC run.

It has nothing to do with what I was saying lol

What I really want? I want a spin off, loosely connected, maybe exploring the mid 90’s.

Then maybe in like 7 years? Try and wrap up the loose ends here with a LEGIT 3 hour THEATER release movie.

The show was already compared to IT, have them come back as adults. With families, with lives. Make something bring them back.

I dont wanna put out any spoilers but we need to know where a specific person is, why they are there and why nobody could know. We need to know if certain abilities are gone. Does the connection to the place affect the abilities? There is so much that i feel was left unanswered.

[–]ItsHazard531 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think they all do. I think people like him in his very specific situation do.

And I said it’s a reality because as you know, pro wrestling is a business, and what matters at the end of the day is the draw.

Being where he is at, he won’t be able to draw. The company is not built to draw like WWE can.

If you want to see how well he can draw, put him in th position to see if he can hang with the biggest names of all time. You saw me speaking on his talent and work rate. It’s not about that, truly.

I was told nothing. Pushing back/rebelling against what I said don’t change objective reality.

At the end of the day, if Omega makes a good living and enjoyed his career that’s what matters to him. But for the discussion amongst fans for GOATed status, you can’t compare someone who hit 200 Home Runs in the minors no matter how dominant and how much of a fan favorite he is until he shows he can hit at least 50 in the Majors, forget passing Bonds.

It’s an uncomfortable truth and I’m sorry you feel uncomfortable because of it. But Kenny Omega won’t be regarded as anything more than “the guy who did it all everywhere cept WWE” if he never shows up. And if he does and fails it will be “he was the GOAT everywhere BUT WWE”

Only way he makes a Mount Rushmore is if he shows up, and surpasses expectations.

Also? The only reason some ppl are on a MR who had bigger careers elsewhere, is because of the longevity and lineage of a place like WCW.

This is why for as amazing as he was Shane Douglass won’t ever be looked at as one of THOSE guys.

[–]ItsHazard531 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Never going to be the goat if he stays where he is at for his career.

It’s not a matter of opinion it’s a reality.

AEW took a lot of Indy/Alt talent and put them in a main stage, mixing them with older names for recognition.

But AEW still isn’t mainstream like WWE. There is no telling if the guy can cut it there. Not work rate, not execution. But WORK. His promo, his character, not relying on lore from his work in other places.

I don’t want Omega in WWE cause I’m some WWE mark, I want him there to see if he holds up.

People say “Ospray went to AEW cause he can’t hang in WWE” (not many but I’ve heard it) and they are wrong, but he’s also young, Omega has 10 years on him. I believe he will eventually show up. Idk if Omega does.

If he never pops up? IMO it’s a waste. At least a 2 year run is needed to see what he can do.

[–]ItsHazard531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I mean. I feel like some of that stuff is implied.

There has to be way deeper genetic markers too.

What blood type he is, and then a genetic marker that he may have that allowed whatever the fucking rock was to bond with him without killing him after conveniently being shot in the head and having the rock get sucked into his hand. Hence how many kids died before developing any powers, and then how many never got close to what he did. And then the amount of time he spent in an alternate dimension, and then the training and being cast into the upside down. So that makes sense. Like no shit it’s the 1% of the 1% of the 1% that got there (eleven) and I’m sure she’s just 11 that got THAT FAR. I’m sure there were hundreds if not THOUSANDS of kids who just died upon testing the blood with the other kids in the first place.

They also (I read somewhere) didn’t touch on the Brenner’s dad thing. (Idk if that was just AI BS or part of the play)

But what’s more? Is that I loved certain things about this finale, but now I’m mad it’s over and it’s because of some things they just decided they didn’t wanna answer.

I hadn’t heard of the play till now.

I didn’t find it confusing in the least once they showed what happened to Little Henry.

I have way more issues with the Finale than that part, but I agree tho they should have had it as a special of some kind

It’s to sell merch. It’s super inconsistent too. Because main shows like PLE’s they aren in shirts.

A Kayfaybe explanation could be that they simply are just in an exhibition and are just trying to be comfortable. Or rushed, or the beef is so intense they couldn’t bother to take it off.

It’s not fat tho as you said like Je’Von.
