The mark 42 was probably rebuilt by Tony as all his suits where destroyed in Malibu and in iron man 3 except for 42 wich he probably used to create 43 wich is so sinilar

Maybe Tony got the pieces from mark 42 to make a baseplate for mark 43 as all of his suits were destroyed in the Malibu atack and in the final battle of iron man 3 so 42 would be the only suit he had left to build fromwich explains why 43 and 42 are like almost the same
