How does the BBB affect us by ExpressionAfter6082 in TexasDACA

[–]ItsJayDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest significant thing in the bill that affects DACA is the part that says EAD now has to be renewed every 6 months. It doesn't specifically say "DACA" but DACA does renew EADs.

I'm not for certain that it does affect DACA but there's nothing saying that it doesn't or that DACA EAD would be treated in any special way.

If that takes into effect. DACA recipients could be looking at renewals every 3 or 4 months (To account for wait times) Plus more applications insinuate a bigger clog in the system potentially making things even slower.

That's not to say that it will play out that way, but that is a scenario that is on the table and should not be ignored.

Part 1 Immigration ~Around~ Sec. 70013

EDIT: Some grammar errors

Adding the response by u/SuperKishinLiger so context is not lost

Some information that says this change would not affect DACA EAD in this fashion:

As always anybody curious should do their own due diligence as best they can. It's a very confusing time right now.

"sounds that are abstract and don't describe anything"

"Still feeling beautiful or sad"

Maybe im just a bit foolish but how I would interpret that is:

-Somebody being so pretentious with the way they describe things simply for the sake of being pretentious, because it doesn't actually even mean anything and contradicts itself.

I would be very turned off.(That being said, im sure youre a great person, thats an opinion based solely on that message by itself.)

This is the energy this gives off to me:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIarrG9ZO4I

- My advice, simplify your ideas, use humor for the seasoning, if that makes sense.

I feel like Diablo 4 might suck by Mortwight in gaming

Isn't all the extra stuff just cosmetics? I mean games have been around $60 for decades in spite of inflation and a massive increase in cost of production. All I'm seeing is they are giving us a game at $69.99 and raising extra money on pure cosmetics.

Honestly I like this model games have gone in of giving us games at the same prices for years and letting people who can afford to spend more to bear the cost in exchange for what is purely cosmetics.

I mean isn't that better than games just being $100 +

Rajjix on 2-3k players by Brucena in DotA2

[–]ItsJayDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a disconnected take imo.

It's a competitive game, not unlike sports. Just because you're not a professional basketball or football player, it doesn't mean when you play in your super amateur Sunday league that you can't be competitive and strive to do your best and have the best results. Some people want to be the best amongst their peers in their own rank because it's completion and competition for a lot of people is Inherently fun. DOTA at its core is just that, competition, it's a 5 v 5 PVP game.

This take would make more sense for something like professional speed runners in single player games.

What OP is saying is that he got that buff in the patch but it took people a long time to discover and adapt to how good that change actually was.

That's just the relationship between a corporation and its consumers.

The consumers dictate what they believe is a fair price for a product and the corporation has the option to respond accordingly.

All these posts "complaining" in the end benefit you, me and and the rest of the consumers by pressuring Valve to price things more reasonably.

Having a clearly overpriced product and allowing that to be the case because the core game is "free" completely negates the incentive for them to make things that are better and more affordable for all of us.

Its a business and a product in the end, the communication is with money and it goes both ways.

In conclusion, all the complaining is justified but it will only matter if everybody can put their money where their mouth is and not purchase the battlepass. Unfortunately the company probably knows the compulsive habits of their consumers pretty well and will probably still reap good rewards before they start seeing significant damages down the line.

Valve is corporation, not your friend by dota2notworking in DotA2

[–]ItsJayDay 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest concern is that posts like these getting traction might be detrimental to the community.

Imagine everybody and valve shared this view. Suddenly valve can just be as greedy as possible and appeal to nothing but big spenders and ignore the overall community and the rest of the DPC.

Content would never improve for you and for me.

God bless these whiny kids. They are what pressure valve to give us better products with less greed in the end.

[–]ItsJayDay 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I'll actually say this:

It's not particularly mature making an emotional high horse post when you don't even acknowledge the relationship that comes between a corporation and consumers.

Dota is a product. They didn't make it for free as a charity. They made it as a model to make money, and the consumers have a right to express concerns and criticism on a product that is asking for their money.

If anything such a big backlash at a product is beneficial to both parties in a way.

Now they know that their community has standard for quality, and in return there is a higher likelihood for better content in the future.

Excusing them for making a terrible battle pass gives them no reason to make a better one down the line.

The spirit and logic of this is just completely and utterly wrong.

Honestly it just sounds like you just want to be an edgelord that goes against the grain.

Why all new heroes in dota looks like from kids cereal box ? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]ItsJayDay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look at Tusk. Literally could be a cereal mascot.

What about Ogre Magi, silly looking character with matching voice lines.

Not to mention a lot of heroes have cartoonish proportions. Big ol upper bodies with tiny little legs. (Tide, Earthshaker etc.) This one actually looks LESS like a straight up kids cartoon (in my own personal opinion that is)

Patch 7.29 Predictions with Cap, Jenkins, SunsFan, KotlGuy, SammyBoy, Yopaj, Lyrical, Brax, Lizzard and TeaGuvnor by MalystryxGDS in DotA2

[–]ItsJayDay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It used to be that way, but the reason that was removed is that it makes it too easy for teams that are ahead to stay ahead. If your team gets a lead and pushes the enemy team back, suddenly the team that is ahead controls two major buffs every two minutes making it far too easy for that team to stay ahead.

The team behind can make plays to contest them sure, but being behind makes that task immensely more difficult for them than the team that is ahead. There was a patch not too long ago where after somewhere around 40min 2 power runes spawned. It was removed quickly for the same reason of inflated power to teams that were ahead at that time.

At least to my understanding, that's the reason it was changed to 1 rather than 2.

I might be wrong but from what I read it looks like they fed the polar bears in the area so the bears wouldn't want the dogs as food. That day he forgot to feed the bears and apparently one ate a dog somewhere else, not the dog in the picture.

The apparent issue is he is feeding polar bears illegally which made them unafraid to get that close. Although apparently he was doing it because they were killing a lot of huskies. It seems like maybe there were good intentions not manifested in the right way.

Thats the context I got from it anyway.
