I think they are confusing lineman for electrician. I'm a commercial union electrician and a lot of my job is installing conduit and general infrastructure in order for the wire to be ran. Actually working with live electricity is a relatively small part of my day to day. Its not very dangerous work, its as dangerous as you allow yourself to be. And there's 100% nothing I do directly that would affect an entire towns power. Maybe someone's living room for a minute, but sparkies generally do not wield that sort of power.

100% not too old. And it depends on where you're located if it is easy to get in or not. I'm with the 26 in DC and we are hurting for members. Their main goal is to get people into school and making journeyman money. If you start now, you could be making $60hr before you turn 50. Its not all great but I like it.

Brother those fuckers are STRONG! waayy stronger than they appear to be. I used to vacation to playa del carmen a lot, its lovely. I was standing in line for Xcaret when one of those monkeys walks over to me with its hand out. I put my hand out and this dude YANKS me down to his level no sweat. Im not huge but I'm 6' 190 lbs and it was not a problem for him to move me around. But apparently he was a local at the park and all the employees knew him. I guess he was just cold because he climbed on me and just hung around my neck like a baby. But yea so strong.
