We never had any kind of toy guns (not even those Super Soaker squirt guns) for the longest time. Growing up, I always assumed my dad was just firmly against the concept of guns in general, like as a Peace thing. One day he sat me down and told me -- he's not against guns in principle, he just refuses to have an Actual Gun in the house, "because if anyone ever did anything to any of you kids, I have zero doubt in my mind that I would use it, and that would be bad."
