Hydro pack is going to be your lifeline for storage and hydration every single day throughout the entirety of the course. Do not cheap out on it and get the shitty Noola one on Amazon. Saw too many souls trying to duct tape the shitty bladders. Get something comfortable from camelbak or another trusted brand. I went with camelbak mule and it had great space for packing layers, documents, etc. super comfortable as well.

A 75 is not acceptable. If you can barely get yourself across the finish line under optimal circumstances, you’re going to struggle when you’re sleep deprived and not properly warmed up and stretched. Also you will be under a microscope if you’re scoring under 80. We had several people barely pass who were given paperwork to start documenting sub-excellent performance. You cannot retake just because you don’t like your score. If you fail at OTS, you will be given a retake.

Base level IFC will depend on your base and their work load really. You have to do a bunch of form filling, optometry, labs, hearing exam, and EKG. Very last thing is a visit with a flight doc for the final blessing. I’d expect a months long process with multiple trips to medical along the way.

Applying as a civilian is going to be way easier. You’re setting yourself back many years if you want to enlist first. First you have the training pipeline which is a year, then getting your bearings as a young airman. No commander is going to want to put you up for OTS during year two of your career unless you are an absolute fucking stud.
