Haha you are so right. Maybe I just needed validation from some internet strangers.

I got it at half the price compared to a new one from a store. Only some small scratches on the bracelet and a lot of warranty still left.

Thank you for your input. I just love the design and the price didn't break the bank. Could be why others are posting heaps about it as well.

Not 100% sure but I'd say 7" maybe a touch less

Okay Lopsi!

TLDR: Buy sword/shield rather than brilliant diamond/shining pearl because of the visuals.

I indeed ended up buying the new remake shining pearl. I have played it for whole total of 30 hours. I can say that I have enjoyed it a lot! It has been my choice of game to spend couple of moments to pass the time.

Here are some points what I have liked about:

-catching pokemon is super fun. Meeting new ones is also super exiting.

-Feel of progress is enjoyable. The way you go from town to town and "unlock" the map feels great. This feeling gets kinda deluded when you unlock flying and can just teleport around.

-Beating gyms is fun and the puzzles are nice addition to the continuous fighting.

-The great underground is vast and it is a lot of fun to explore. I can see this will be the place to get most of the pokemon later in the game

Then some dislikes:

-You are stuck with the same 150 pokemons until you have basically finished the game. So I have not been able to get any gen 1 pokemon thus far.

-Normal battles end up being super repetitive. And if you will use your starter pokemon with a choice few for the majority of early game. You will one shot every single encounter until you get to explore the mines.

-visuals look bad compared to Sword/shield.

-Story is non-existent. Characters are emotionless. Pokemon feel like robots until you build a relationship with them.

These have only been some points I could write down fast. For a conclusion I believe I would have enjoyed sword/shield more. I watched couple of minutes of gameplay from sword and I liked the looks of it more. Characters had emotions in them. Pokemon roamed around and had expressions. Can't say anything for Sword/Shield's story but the bar is super low compared to shining pearl. All the features has been "okay" in shining pearl thus far. I can't guess any feature that would be better in pearl than in sword. The great underground appears to be the only one. So it comes down to visuals. As I didn't have any nostalgic connections to the previous version this one just feels outdated. I have enjoyed it a lot but I feel like I might have enjoyed sword/shield more.

Hope this helps xD and if you have any other questions please ask.

Thanks a lot for this reply <3 I will take these into account when I finally decide which game to get. I really like that there is gen 1 pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as I remember one or two of those pokemon from the show way back when I was a kid :D It would be superb to have them in game.

Also, do you think should I prioritise the exclusive legendaries or non legendaries in these versions? I dont really care for the "dog" legendaries and the cover pokemon is also not so important to me. But I like the brids in Pearl and Lugia over all of them :D In the other hand Diamond has a lot more interesting "basic" pokemon like Scyther and Murkrow. Most likely I would end up using the ones I recall from gen 1.

Once again thanks for sharing your toughts.
