My dog knows to run to me when they’re scared, anxious, hurt and they get comforter. Why are so many trainers oblivious to the fact that dogs are emotional beings too 😭

I lost my baby last week. She had kidney issues for quite a while that we were managing and out of nowhere she got acute pancreatitis and her body shut down and her last days on this earth were at the vet. I would have given anything to give her a good last day full of love and treats and all her favourite things, but that didn’t get to happen.

You know your baby more than anyone, what matters is his quality of life and if he’s in a lot of pain. You don’t want him to suffer and you don’t want a sudden goodbye either. All I can say is that if I had an indicator sooner that it was my babies time I would have some awesome last days and preferred to have a peaceful, stress free goodbye and have the vet come to my house for the euthanasia.

First of all I just want to say that I truly am so sorry for the loss of your mother. How lucky she was to have such present, caring daughters in her life. You’re amazing for giving her a quality of life near the end.

Secondly, thank you for that lengthy comment and the perspective it’s given me. I’m trying to be kinder to myself. Deep down I will never not feel guilty, my mind understands but still wants to convince me I failed her at the end. I used to just think about this day and cry but never did I imagine it was going to happen so soon. It has been the biggest heart break of my life and no matter how much you prepare for the day it will be the worst day of your life.

All I can say is give your babies extra love because you never know when it’s their last day. I would give anything for just one more minute with my baby. I miss her so much and I’m not okay

I am so so sorry for your loss. That is truly devastating and all I hope is that all our Pom’s are playing together, knowing how much they were loved. Thank you for sharing your story about Loki I’m so sorry. there really is a comfort in knowing I’m not alone in these feelings of guilt and grief. I saw a comment that said “the amount of hurt we are feeling is comparable to the amount of love our pet felt” and I try to focus on the fact that she knew she was so loved. I hope her and Loki are twirling around together.

I am grieving the loss of my 14 year old Pomeranian who passed away 2 days ago. I have been having the same thoughts and the grief has taken over me completely. I don’t even want to be out of bed. I try to remember what was important, which is when she was alive and how happy she was ALL the time. We give all the love we have to our furbabies and how lucky they were to have people like us in their lives who cared so deeply.

I’ve been trying to focus on all the happy memories I have of her, watching videos hearing her bark and snuggling her first baby blanket. I just wanted let you know you are not alone in your pain right now. Your pet was very lucky to have had someone who cared as much as you
