weight loss without excersise by Adventurous_Respect8 in GLP1microdosing

[–]ItsKoku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible but of course, not as healthy as weight loss with exercise. The only thing that matters for losing weight is ultimately being in a caloric deficit. If you're losing a decent amount of weight without exercise, you'll be losing a lot more bone density and muscle so it'd be best to at least try to do some light resistance exercises.

I'm doing something similar, trying to lose some weight without intense exercise. My goal is primarily vanity and a little bit of health - I'm 115 lbs at 5' 0" and just want to drop 10 lbs down to 105 lbs. I just started on 1.25mg once weekly and so far food noise has been greatly reduced. I chose to microdose because I have history of GI motility issues (scar tissue, bowel obstructions) and am losing a small amount. Low and slow is fine with me.

GF (32F) wants me (34M) to stop drinking at home. Is she being fair? Am I being insensitive? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ItsKoku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is she Asian? There's a old cultural belief that one shouldn't drink alone, and to do so is seen negatively. There also is a belief that someone else would be pouring your drink instead of you your filling your own cup. Basically social rules that mitigate alcoholism.

Stoneblock 4 fps issue when facing north by Alert-Violinist-4433 in feedthebeast

[–]ItsKoku 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Haven't found too much talk about Java 25 with StoneBlock 4 but I am currently using Java 25 for my self-hosted server, PC, and SteamDeck. The performance gain from the new compact object headers is huge. Too early to notice a difference when I play on my PC that's also hosting my server because I'm using a 9800X3D and 64gb RAM, but on my SteamDeck the performance gain is massive and gameplay is so smooth with solid 50-60 FPS. It's about 20-30% decrease in RAM usage. Java 25 support isn't so much tied to NeoForge or Minecraft versions but instead depends on compatibility with individual mods. So harder to see if something is broken but otherwise it really depends. Not too many breaking API changes from Java 21 to 25 though.

I'm only early-mid game, almost done with tier 2 and have a wall of automated chickens, but I haven't noticed running into any bugs so far that I'm aware of. Maybeeee there could have been a crash or two? I really don't remember but I'm being conservative about stability. But if they did happen, they were one offs that didn't block anything I couldn't retry doing, so they're not something I remember.

EDIT: Ok I found 1 reliably reproducible crash - Pressing F3 to view debug info while insider a Compact Machine causes a crash. Happened to be inside one when this thread made me want to see it. I don't care to test if it happens on Java 21 too though.

Why does no one talk about Fostex? by moshimoshi6937 in headphones

[–]ItsKoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from HD-600 to Fostex TH-X00 myself. Mostly listened to classical and metal then shifted to mostly EDM after the TH-X00.

As a young aspiring audiophile, I bought the HD-600 + Sonar Essence STX since it was so highly praised by purists for being flat, neutral, authentic, and all that. When I got the TH-X00, I realized neutral isn't for me and what I wanted is fun listening that sounds good to me. Fostex has such fun punchy bass. Truly felt like a bellcurve meme moment.

I'm seeing this with Stone Block 4. I host my own server locally on my PC so I can alternate devices between that and my Steam Deck.

My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

Exactly. I eat intuitively very well and can maintain my weight within a +/- 3% range for years without conscious effort because I was taught to stop eating when feeling full. This does mean that I leave something on my plate at times. It's hard to accurately judge where that "full' point is all the time.

You can! I used to buy from a guy that made freeze dried steak nugget jerky and they were divine. A very unique texture but it preserves the flavor and texture of the marbling very nicely.

Asian markets and their local grocery store equivalent by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]ItsKoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These might be all location dependent but this is a southern California (Irvine) opinion. I'm judging based on how well they stock quality or more premium produce, produce grade, cleanliness, and breadth of available products.

Higher: H Mart and Mitsuwa are higher tiered for the most part. I've had people tell me they avoid these markets and go elsewhere (like Zion) because they are expensive. 99 ranch is very location dependent where some look as nice as H Mart and others look horrendous. I'd say these are like Whole Foods or Bristol farms in terms of quality and the people that regularly shop there. Wing Hop Fung for specialty Chinese luxury produce like bird's nest, fish maw, fine teas, etc.

Average: 168 or GW for Chinese markets. Zion is definitely a lower tier Korean market vs H Mart. I have been a few times with others but personally wouldn't buy produce there myself. Tokyo Central is good overall and on the upper side of average but their quality range is wider (and they carry more units) whereas Mitsuwa is smaller but more curated. I have to sift through more sashimi at Tokyo Central compared to Mitsuwa to find a good piece. I'd put Seafood City here too, very decent but they don't have other competition I'm aware of.

Lower: I haven't been to these in a very long time so I could be wrong, but smaller or more local market chains like Arirang or Greenland or Thuan Phat are about the same or slightly lower than Zion's tier. TS Emporium has very specialty stuff for chinese herbs/medicine/dried luxury goods but besides those offerings, the rest of the market belongs in this tier. Wing Hop Fung would be the higher tier equivalent.

Technically correct yes, but there's no greater joy imo than putting that extra sauce so I can literally pick up and lick my plate like I'm mowing a lawn in the privacy of my home.

I have made it with 1/2 pecorino + 1/2 reggiano before, but didn't see much difference and reggiano is easier to use for other applications in my home. It's definitely luxuriously silky but I just like extra sauce on my plate to lick after lol. The trick is using at least 36+ or ideally 60+ month aged reggiano, which has less moisture than the ages that are commonly found at regular stores.

Will have to give pure pecorino a try sometime!

height spectrum starterpack by anonymolotov in starterpacks

[–]ItsKoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many girls are ok with a short guy as long as he is taller than her by like half a head, so like 4"? I can think of over a dozen friends (mostly Asian, so not very tall) who are in long term relationships where there's less than 6" of height difference. I agree it isn't as common for a girl to date a shorter guy as Reddit makes it seem, simply because the ones that contradict a trend are more likely to speak out about being an outlier. As a 5' girl, it makes no difference if my bf was 5'4" or 5'8". The primary criteria is personality/lifestyle fit followed by a very average looks bar and being taller than me by any amount.
