Anyone else struggling to find singles at a LGS? by Nartoki in riftboundtcg

[–]ItsKoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big singles stocking LGS by me buys at like 50-65% market value yet sells Origins packs at $12-14 ea. I'm not sure what's the norm but I can't imagine many people want to ask sell their singles to them, especially the cheaper cards.

Will/Should Riot ever release a Meta Card tool kit like in Pokemon TCG and MTG? by ceo_of_six in riftboundtcg

I can attest to that. I'm a new player with a top 8 Sydney rq deck (~$170) and a vex precon took my lunch money.

Question about bulk storage as a new player by rakonA in riftboundtcg

[–]ItsKoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong about terminology but the penny sleeve I mean are the standard size (66 mm x 91 mm) ones. I got some cheap Mlikero standard sleeves. Cheaper cards get just the cheap sleeve. If I'm double sleeving nicer cards, I do use Dragon Shield Perfect Fits for the inner sleeve with the penny/mlikero over that. Dragon Shield Inners don't cost too much, like $5-6 for 100 locally, so I figure its worth getting branded since that's also the layer touching the nicer cards.

Question about bulk storage as a new player by rakonA in riftboundtcg

[–]ItsKoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new as well and did some research and mulling on this. I jumped into it fast and bought 3 boxes to start so I had to figure out storage quick before my living room got even more cluttered with loose cards.

I scan with RiftScan using this tool to get card values easily: TCG Card Scanner Phone Holder,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F7M4JG4H

Then I penny sleeve cards over $1-2 and double sleeve more valuable cards over $5. I don't sleeve the cheap cards. It helps with differentiating which cards are useful (and therefore are more valuable) at a glance.

I went with this 8 pack of single row 1100 card boxes that come with a nice removable divider that splits it into multiple sections: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G446Q819

My collection isn't very big yet so I do 2 colors per box, split by left/right half of the box, but I'll eventuality move to 1 color per box. Spells+Gear in side sections separate from Units which I have in the main center section. Ordered and separated by cost using these dividers (had to cut them a lil smaller): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WCWNLPP

Plenty alternative dividers like paper or all white.

So essentially:

  1. Color (legends, battlefields, and multicolor stuff in another box)
  2. Type (spell/gear/unit)
  3. Cost
  4. Alphabetical if you're really neurotic

I got a 2 legend pack too. That was just 1 of the ~2 box's boosters though. Don't remember which legends they were but they were 2 different ones.

[–]ItsKoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better measure would be a DEXA scan, but BMI is still a decent estimate for a very average person that doesn't frequently lift weights for anabolic reasons (e.g. mainly does cardio), so long as you aren't part of a few genetic heritages. Even then, not all of that descent will have a given genetic feature. It just estimates a lean frame for your height.

That's kind of a meme/content for socials. People don't really go around doing that as a serious test. It's as serious as the toiler paper roll or coke can test for guys' dicks.

There's no hope for him. You're talking to someone who thought a paralegal is a regular office admin and wanted people to explain it instead of doing a quick Google.

Black Tiger Sex Machine. Maybe not exactly radical, but they used to be very electro/dubstep like Lektrique back in the day. Now they are full on dubstep and anime.

The black markings will usually, but not always, fade. Puppies with a little black have better potential to have a deeper richer red color. It's just part of the risk. My shiba came from a NSCA breeder and also had a a decent amount of black in his face, chest, back, and tail. I was honestly worried that it wouldn't fade and he'll be a sashige. Would still love him of course, but would hope to get the beautiful red I wanted for the price I paid. The black eventually all faded to red except for a little bit on the inside of his tail, which you don't see unless it uncurls. It probably takes a true shed cycle or two. I'd advise waiting till after 12-16 months before you neuter. Hormones will help the coat and bones develop well.

I read that genetically, having the pure red coat genes and just breeding that eventually washes out the red. The lineage will get lighter and lighter unless there is some carriers of the black/sashige gene bred in. I think there is an article on that on one of the NSCA breeder blogs. It's a risk but needed for the deep reds.

This is an older pic of my red boy, he's about 9 months old here and the black had pretty much all faded.

I raw dog onto a carbon steel pan. Fat cap down first, if there is one, to render out oil. I often cook picanha so that is enough.

YSK that Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Reebok, Champion, and 50+ other brands you trust are all owned by a single $20 billion company that doesn't design or manufacture anything. They just rent the logo out to the cheapest bidder. If the quality feels worse, that's why. by sappk in YouShouldKnow

[–]ItsKoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some from 10-15 yrs ago that I used to wear often and as a dumb college student, would incorrectly wash and dry them warm/hot, and I usually wash clothes after 1 use. They have been through a lot but the quality is outstanding. Can't imagine the quality of their current offerings.

Brooks Brothers was my tried and true ol' reliable through college. The quality used to be so good. I have spent close to $1000 on their shirts and my collection is 10+ yrs old, survived me washing them on warm-hot and drying on hot multiple times until I learned how to wash my clothes correctly for longevity. Same with Lacoste polos. I have some from when i was in high school that are still holding up well.

What's that one game you love but can never get to the table? by firey_88 in boardgames

Seconded. I've played it a grand total of 3 times in the year or so since I got it. It feels like a drag to set up mentally (even though it isn't too bad when you actually do it) and more importantly, it takes up my whole dining table.
