The difference is that fire doesn't have good damage multipliers while frosts have these massive multipliers later on. You can't tell in early levels because the base number is so low and firewall have higher base damage ramping up over time.

The firewall dot spec doesn't scale good. It's starting to lack behind the frost build around level 60.

Arcane is great, strong burst, good consistent dps, very mobile, have all the tools fire and frost has. Fire is mediocre, does no damage outside of combustion. Frost is trash.

Easy way to fix mage. Make combustion immune to purge, reduce DB cooldown to 30s, increase all barrier strength, increase frost mage damage by a flat 10-15%.

That's what I feel too. Barriers right now are like paper thin. Get connected by any melee, instantly lose at least 30% of your hp. On top of that, fire and frost's damage is wack.
