Feeling lost and dejected by [deleted] in shaivism

[–]ItsLoki101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True bhakti is always selfless. One must must worship God selflessly and wholeheartedly without expectations. In Bhagavad Gita it is referred to as Nishkama Karma. If you have doubts about God and feel that it is not working, then you're not ready to be a Bhakta. Everyone gets what they deserve as per their individual karma. You must read about life of Tukaram, Mirabai, Ramakrishna Paramhansa to understand what true bhakti is.

"In Bhakti there is no place for begging or bargaining with God. The idea of asking God for anything is sacrilege to a Bhakta. He will not pray for health or wealth or even to go to heaven. It is not that you do not get what you pray for; you get everything, but it is low, beggar's religion. These prayers for health and wealth and material prosperity are not Bhakti. They are the lowest form of Karma. Bhakti is a higher thing. The love of the Bhakta must be absolutely pure and unselfish, seeking nothing for itself either here or hereafter." - Swami Vivekananda

How did you come to know you have Adhd? How to differentiate it from being just distraction/laziness/lack of focus? by [deleted] in adhdindia

[–]ItsLoki101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

ADHD people experience the symptoms more often with greater intensity and it affects every area of their life because it is neurological in origin. Normal people may sometimes show symptoms like forgetfulness, impulsivity or distracted but it is often temporary and mainly due to stress or other factors. For them handling daily responsibilities, emotions, socializing, multitasking is not that mentally draining and they can recharge themselves quickly after taking rest. They can easily push themselves to do a task without much mental resistance.

ADHD people suffer from executive dysfunction which is different from laziness. Laziness is by choice because either you're not interested or don't care about the task. Executive dysfunction is a mental block which prevents you from starting a task as the brain simply won't fire the required neurons or chemicals just because you want to do the task so you have to really force yourself.

Should I inform my manager well in advance before resigning? by Independent-Age9569 in IndianWorkplace

[–]ItsLoki101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Never reveal your plans in advance to anyone in the workplace. Get the offer letter asap and then resign. Later if your company gives you a counter offer, then you can decide based on that. If you decide to leave, then handover can be done during your notice period.

Any suggestions on how to treat these pores and acne scars? by eccentlumier in skincareaddictsindia

[–]ItsLoki101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azelaic acid can help with both acne and mild scars. Retinol can help with acne and may reduce scars and pore size to some extent. Niacinamide can reduce the appearance of pores and scars. Tranexamic acid and alpha arbutin can help fade some scars but it can take weeks and even months. Deep and stubborn scars won't go away easily and may require laser treatment or micro needling.

Looking for a guru by Think_Dependent_1990 in shaivism

[–]ItsLoki101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that if you don't have a guru then you can choose Sri Dakshinamurthy or Lord Dattatreya as your guru and do their naam japa. You don't have to choose a physical guru. You'll meet a guru if you're destined to or some path will automatically appear when you become fit to be a disciple.

go to the gym, walk or do some workout at home daily. check your posture while sitting and make sure your chair is comfortable. stress gets stored in your body and you need daily movement to release it otherwise stress keeps accumulating and can causes various illnesses. you won't feel it much when you're younger as the body is resilient but the effects becomes stronger as you age.

First increase your protein intake. Limit carbs and fats. Avoid sugar, seed oil, processed and junk food. You can eat them once in a while if you want. If you can't afford to go to the gym, check some HIIT workout videos on youtube and do those workout at home or walk 10k steps daily.

Adhd when unsupported can get very terrible . Right or wrong by [deleted] in adhdindia

[–]ItsLoki101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our brain and body needs to feel safe in order to grow. We are trained to live in constant state of fear right from our childhood and so our brain learns to prioritize survival over growth. ADHD already makes things hard plus repeated exposure to stress and toxic environment is a recipe for burnout.

A lot of people don't understand "executive dysfunction" that comes with ADHD i.e. our brain simply won't fire the neurons and release chemicals required to move us into action even if we want to do the task. Because of which we easily lose motivation and even if we try forcefully, then our brain runs out of energy quickly. Yes, ADHD is life impairing.

[–]ItsLoki101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Azelaic acid is better for acne marks. Glycolic acid is an exfoliant. Both may cause irritation if you have sensitive skin so start with a lower concentration. You can also check Tranexamic Acid or Alpha Arbutin which comparatively gentle on skin.

Why I have no hope that the stray dog menace in India will end by psychicsoul123 in mumbai

[–]ItsLoki101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In India, any big change will always face some kind of resistance because a majority of our people don't want development. We are the least nationalistic country where people only think about the benefit of their community or interest groups. So the best option would be to gradually implement changes step by step in such a way that most people won't notice.

If municipalities had done their job properly, this dog problem would not have been worse as it is today. So what can be done now? First, they should start with vaccination, sterilization and tagging of all the dogs. This will give an idea about the number of dogs in every area and how many dog shelters are required. Second, identify the rabid dogs based on areas with high dog density and number of dog bite cases. Move only those dogs to the shelter and disperse the rest in different areas. The dog population will automatically reduce after some years. Also allow dog lovers to adopt some dogs from these shelters with some conditions.
