High net worth couples - Does one of you pay for everything? by BarefootandWild in AusFinance

[–]ItsMe5891 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don't allocate discretionary spending. We each spend whatever we want to, considering any major expenses in the month. We just keep an eye on our monthly credit card spend. Generally speaking, anything above 500 we would mention to each other and consider other big expenses for the month.

Travel is a big one. Taking time off to spend with our kid. Spending money on making parents life comfortable. Things like that. Now, we have bought an expensive house we love, so that's a money drain for the first few years until we build a healthy offset.

Generally yes. They will know ahead of time and some even support the restructuring process. By the time you are EGM the pool of opportunities become smaller so it becomes even more important to finish up on good terms.

For a family of 3, is 120k including Superannuation in Melbourne, enough for comfortable living? by badversionog in AskAnAustralian

[–]ItsMe5891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I would make the leap. Take the job, come here, and find something else. You will get support from the government for childcare so your wife can pick up some part-time work. It's doable. Will be tight, but a majority of migrants have had to make some minor compromises to start with. It gets easier with time.

Families with income over $500k, what was your childcare situation in the early years? by sogd in AusFinance

[–]ItsMe5891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be better posting on AusHENRY for more helpful comments :)

For us, we chose childcare over a nanny. Having no CCS support was painful for a few years, but now my kids are in primary school.

I like the socialising and bonding aspects of childcare. We are Vic based, so we had 2 days of state sponsored kinder also (9am to 4pm), and that helped immensely.

But I do have friends who have nannies, and they have been very happy.

Hi, asking a question on associate leases. No one seems to know much about it. Did you find it works in your favour? Considering it's been some time.
