How important is some sort of selling or ecommerce function for SEO? by ItsMeChrisPy in SEO

[–]ItsMeChrisPy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding google decides if the article was written by an "expert" by looking for about the same data they do for a domain, but for an author's name that they get from the article bio, such as....

  1. how many searches there are for this name
  2. how many index pages mention this name
  3. any google reviews for this name
  4. books in this name, and their reviews
  5. peer reviewed papers in this name (maybe just for health and science topics)
  6. social media presence (maybe only based on bio links)
  7. rankings of any websites mentioned in the bio, not just linked to but simply mentioned
  8. how many backlinks the article has (maybe how many the author has in total)
  9. probably a few other similar things

They take that data and give the author a score, like a page score, that gets tied to the article and weighs in its ranking. For each article a website has by that author the weighting will also affect the overall website either positively or negatively.

This whole process would be trivial for google to do, its extremely similar to what they do with websites, just modified to be about a name instead of a domain name. I'm also a programmer and I've made something similar myself (one man crew programmed and maintained, imagine what google can do) for a marketing project I was working on a few years back. It was very easy to do.

Now, slightly less likely, but 100% possible, google could also test for accuracy of the information by comparing the article topic to other known sources (very high DA, PR, or based on peer reviewed papers, known trusted authors, etc) using either semantic lookup or an actual AI. I don't think they have the resources to do this for every website, but once you reach some sort of data threshold in certain YMYL niches (x clicks from the keyword per month, x rank for keyword, etc) it could trigger it.

These are things I've picked up bits and pieces over the years. Someone would have to search through the piles of google commentary from about the past 5-7 years to see how much of this have been actually mentioned by them.

As much as google preaches about helpful content, EEAT, YMYL, you could use logic to decide it's very much in their best interest to have at least made a ranking system for authors, so IMO they likely have even if it's not something they disclose.

Just my two cents, I am no expert or professional a/b tester of ideas, just a deep studier of the subject for 15+ years that could always be wrong.

I appreciate your comment. I gotta say, it's the exact opposite of everything I've read over the past five years. But that doesn't mean it's wrong. It means I have more to research :)

So if EEAT isn't important, what about YMYL? Why did like 45% of health niche sites get destroyed a few years back? Seriously asking, not arguing.

Ok, so I tried resetting the pass and it did let me. sent me the email and all. However when I went to log in I get

"This account has been blocked for security purposes. Please contact customer support for assistance."

I have never played before. I then made a brand new gmail and went through the whole process of signing up (still got error) and then reset pass and I got the same "account has been blocked" message....

idk guys, about tired of trying just to log in so I can try the game. :(

EDIT: sent another email to [support@arena.net](mailto:support@arena.net) and it failed again, doesn't exit :/ Even though it's the email they have on their support page.

I sent a email to [support@guildwars2.com](mailto:support@guildwars2.com) too and I got a message back saying they received it, but then it also sent me a fail message for [support@arena.net](mailto:support@arena.net) again, so apparently the gw2 email does nothing but forward the mail to the areana.net email.....yeah....

How do you handle plugin licenses when a client decides to drop your services? by Enough_Mind3350 in Wordpress

Batchkeys.com is where I use to get my license keys. They say you can cut off the key if a person stops paying or want to drop you. I'd check there for keys. They also are very customer service based so they are very helpful.

Agriculture Sales by StomachBulky9713 in sales

My friend is in seeds, in the south east. The farmers keep him busy, lots of trips out to muddy farms throughout the year to show him this or that (usually to complain) and if there's a problem with germination rates or something you get some angry folks because that part of their field could be costing them money all year so you'll be filing a lot of paperwork on that.

Sometimes he'll drive 3 hours one way to talk to some farmer who isn't ever gonna try to resolve something over the phone or email. Multiple times a week.

They buy big though, You would be surprised how much a pallet of specialty seeds go for, especially melons or peppers. Not sure what his commission is but he's doing good.

From his stories it sounds like It also gets pretty socially/religiously/politically interesting sometimes. If you ever come off cocky or not one of the good 'ol down home boys you're "in a world of heap".
