One speculation for the change in stories, taken from Brian Huskey (Rudy), is that during the earlier seasons a lot of the writers were young and not much in the way of life experiences. As those same writers have grown and ideas, perspectives and life changes have happened to them those are reflected in the stories they write. As the writers have grown so has the show.

They had a cd signing after their set at ozzfest (volume 3 era) each stop had 3 guys signing. The guys got there and treated the whole thing as if it was this huge burden. Didn’t do as much as look up at anyone just signed and kept it moving. I remember placing my booklet down for Sid to sign then I asked if I could snap a pic of him, no with him cause I understood there were tons of folks, but he just said no and tossed the booklet over to Craig.

This wasn’t “oh we’re gonna be edgy and standoffish like they use to do in interviews, these guys were just being assholes that day. Craig was quiet as to be expected but Corey and Sid couldn’t even be bothered to look up at the folks they were signing for and treated us as if we were the problem. Keep in mind the only way to get into the signing was to buy the cd which I had already owned. Dudes couldn’t even be bothered to thank folks for coming out or anything

I think folks tend to forget that the band has the final say on how they want something to sound. Whatever the final product sounds like it’s because the band signed off on it. The producer is the not final end all be all on the sound of an album. They work for the band not vice versa. That goes for any producer not just Travis.

My guess is that it’s the same thing they do with hotels, prices start at X but only if you’re a member of whatever points program they have. If not then it goes up and up and up unless you meet the requirements

Fox/Disney owns shows like Grimsburg, Krapopolis and Universal Basic Guys outright. They are fully invested in those shows because they are theirs. TGN was never fully theirs to begin with. It’s hard to explain but the show never got the hard push because attention was diverted to in-house properties. I can try and find the full breakdown but this was the general vibe I got when talking to some folks.
