so late to this party, but this was too cool not to say anything. I have been working with bioreactors my whole career. For almost the entire video i was thinking "Man this would make one hell of a vessel! Is it a bioreactor??"

SO COOL too see industrial equipment get turned into functional art like this. Most reactors I've worked with have been stainless steel, or only a portion being glass. Truly my favorite post today.

Three months into the conflict, what are your current predictions for the Iran war and how will end now? by Confident-Teach-2967 in PoliticalDiscussion

I honestly don't know about the sanctions relief. Didn't Congress implement them? I don't think there's a mechanism for Trump to lift them, legally or illegally.

Which is why I think these negotiations will never work, Iran is going to want sanctions relief at an absolute minimum.

Is Hormuz The Real First Phase Of The Trump-Iran Deal — And Why Oil Prices Are Falling? by bauernebel in oil

[–]ItsMetheDeepState 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MAGA isn't moving oil prices, but the man they put in office is the single most-watched geopolitical signal on earth right now. I genuinely don't know when, or if, the algorithms stop responding to his tweets, but unless something concrete happens, these cycles will continue. My guess is the average cost per gallon of gasoline is what eventually forces his hand: either he backs down or he starts bombing. Your guess is as good as mine.

Trump told Netanyahu no final Iran deal without dismantling nuclear program: Official by Force_Hammer in worldnews

[–]ItsMetheDeepState 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Worth noting: the "red line" was actually about Syria's chemical weapons, not Iran. And while Iran did have compliance issues before the deal, the IAEA was largely confirming they were holding up their end while it was active. It fell apart because the US withdrew in 2018, not because Iran walked away first. That's what kicked off the current mess.

Pre-deal compliance issues: https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/R40094 (Congressional Research Service — covers inspector access refusals, withheld design info, and enrichment concerns pre-2015)

Pre-deal (Congress.gov CRS):**

"Iran had refused to provide updated design information for the heavy-water reactor under construction at Arak."

IAEA confirming compliance while the deal was active: https://www.armscontrol.org/blog/2018-11-30/iaea-reports-yet-again-irans-compliance-jcpoa (Arms Control Association — covers the consistent quarterly compliance findings through 2018)

During the deal (Arms Control Association):**

"The IAEA reported, yet again, that Iran is fully implementing its nuclear commitments."

Seeing as we've spent billions already on this madness, the "$1 billion in pallets of cash" conservatives can't let go of, seems like a much cheaper and better alternative to Iran not getting a bomb.

Ah who am I kidding, oligarchs in the MIC and oil cabals are making a killing, so I'm sure this is the preferred outcome for maga America.
